The La Resurrecciรณn Parish community gathers in faith and festivity as it celebrates Last Sundayโs Flores de Marรญa Tapusan, honoring the Virgen de las Flores and marking the culmination of the monthโlong May devotions, May 31.
The day begins with a 9:00 AM Mass at La Resurrecciรณn Parish in celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, presided by Rev. Fr. Larry Ramos. After the Offertory, Ms. Jeriel Paulyn Laraรฑo, the outgoing Rosa Mystica 2026, offers a heartfelt rendition of Bendita Sea to the Virgen de las Flores, setting a tone of gratitude and devotion.
In the afternoon, the parish comes alive as the Santacruzan begins at 5:00 PM. Many young girls join the procession, walking with grace and reverence in honor of the Blessed Mother. The Santacruzanโone of the most beloved Filipino Catholic traditionsโcommemorates the finding of the True Cross and celebrates Mary as the Queen of May.
The program also reflects the spirit of the Bolea ng Flores de Marรญa 2027, whose theme is โMaria, Ina ng Pagโasa at Pagmamahal.โ The parish acknowledges the symbolic turnโover of devotion and service, echoing the tradition of crowning the Rosa Mystica and honoring the role of young women in Marian celebrations.
Right after the procession, the parish holds a special closing program for the monthโlong Flores de Marรญa. Selected teenage girls recite their poems before the image of the Virgen de las Flores, offering words of love, faith, and youthful devotion. As part of the ceremony, Ms. Jeriel Paulyn Laraรฑo, Rosa Mystica 2026, once again offers Bendita Sea, Adios, and her own poem as a final tribute.
Before the celebration concludes, Rev. Fr. Larry Ramos blesses the image of the Virgen de las Flores while singing Salve Regina. He expresses his gratitude to all committees, ministries, and volunteers who dedicated their time to the Flores de Marรญa 2026. Ms. Laraรฑo also offers her thanks to everyone who supported her throughout her year of service as Rosa Mystica 2026.
The parish extends its heartfelt appreciation to all participants of this yearโs Santacruzan, the church servers, youth, ministries, and the entire community who helped bring the monthโlong celebration to life.
Flores de Marรญa and Santacruzan remain cherished Filipino traditionsโcelebrations of beauty, faith, and devotion to Mary. At La Resurrecciรณn Parish, these traditions continue to flourish, uniting generations in prayer, culture, and joyful reverence.
