Letโs face itโno one looks good in a spiritual diaper. Yet, some Christians cling to babyhood, expecting everyone around them to tiptoe so they wonโt cry. It's as if maturity in faith is optional, and the responsibility to grow falls on others instead of them. But here's the truth: itโs time to trade the milk bottle for solid food (Hebrews 5:12-14).
The Word of God isnโt a fluffy pillow for your feelingsโitโs a double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Itโs meant to cut through excuses and build you up, not coddle you. It cuts, convicts, and transforms. If you're still flinching at the truth after years in church, itโs not the Word that needs softeningโitโs your heart that needs strengthening. Newsflash: maturity doesnโt come from being catered toโit comes from growing up.
Paul didnโt mince words when addressing this. In 1 Corinthians 3:1-2, he called out believers stuck on spiritual milk when they shouldโve been feasting on the meat of the Word. Growth isnโt a suggestion; itโs a command.
So, whatโs the solution? Stop demanding a padded faith. Embrace challenges, accept correction, and allow Godโs Word to shape you. Maturity in Christ isnโt just about knowledgeโitโs about putting the Word into action. Itโs about stepping up, not staying stagnant.
Letโs grow up. The church doesnโt need more baby Christiansโit needs mature disciples who can carry the banner of faith with strength, humility, and boldness. Time to level up, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The nursery days are over. Are you ready to leave the crib behind?
