PRAYING THE ROSARY MAY SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AND REDUCE DEPRESSION

Research suggests that praying the Rosary may have meaningful benefits for mental well-being. A multinational study published in the Journal of Religion and Health, involving 361 practicing Catholics from Italy, Poland, and Spain, found that Rosary prayer was moderately associated with lower depression, greater empathy, and fewer religious struggles.

For many Catholics, the Rosary is more than a devotional practiceโ€”it is a source of peace, strength, and hope, especially during difficult seasons. Through its rhythm of prayer and meditation on the life of Christ with Mary, the Rosary can help quiet the heart, strengthen resilience, and draw us closer to God.

One participant beautifully testified: โ€œPraying the rosary saved my life... it gave me the strength to survive these difficult moments.โ€

The Rosary does not replace professional mental-health care, but for many people, it can be a meaningful spiritual source of comfort and support. May every Hail Mary remind us that we are never alone. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™
