Ramadan is not just a month—it’s a reminder, a reset, a chance to realign our hearts with Allah. Amid the demands of medical studies, let’s not forget the purpose of this blessed time. May we fast not just from food, but from distractions. May we pray not just with our lips, but with our hearts. May we emerge from this month not just as better students, but as better Muslims.

“Ramadan is a blessed month of reflection, prayer, and compassion—an opportunity to renew our faith and purify our hearts.”

Al-Baqarah 2:183
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.

As we welcome the arrival of the most awaited and beautiful month of the year, here are some reminders on how we can make the best use of our time for everyone's benefit.

In line with this, OLFU-MSA would like to inform everyone that starting from the first day of Ramadan, a temporary prayer room will be provided exclusively for sisters. This aims to reduce waiting time and offer a dedicated space for those who wish to use their time meaningfully between classes (e.g., reading the Qur'an or performing Sunnah Rawatib prayers).

Stay tuned, as there may be upcoming activities to help us balance our responsibilities as believers and medical students.

[UPD MSA DONATION DRIVE FOR PALESTINIAN FAMILIES]

Assalamu'alaikum (Peace be upon you)!

The UP Diliman Muslim Students' Association (UPD MSA) is organizing a donation drive for the Palestinian families currently staying in our campus.

The MSA has been consistently working closely with the families as well as other volunteer groups to provide them essential goods during their stay in UP Diliman, and In shaa Allah will continue to do so while we host them inside our campus.

We invite our friends and family to contribute to the relief efforts by sending monetary or in-kind donations. The details can be found in the attached photo.

For those wishing to send monetary donations, please send us a message of the receipt so we could keep track of your donations properly. Rest assured that we will be completely transparent and will be posting updates here in our page as much as we can.

Meanwhile, for those wishing to send in-kind donations, please kindly contact our point-persons (see attached photo).

Considering their imminent departure on Dec. 21, we will only be accepting donations until 12nn on Dec. 20, 2023 to ensure all donations make it to the Palestinian families.

Assalamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Donation Drive for the victims of Bagyong Paeng.

Yesterday, October 28 at around 2:00 in the morning the unexpected tragedy, Bagyong Paeng hits the various municipalities of the Province of Maguindanao and Cotabato, BARMM which caused them to struggle from the disasters of flooding and landslide that lost several lives and there are still people who are missing. This also led to the destruction of numerous homes, agricultural goods and some infrastructures collapsed.

With this, the OLFU-MSA is knocking on your generous hearts for any in-kind and monetary donations to help the victims of the said calamity.

Any assistance or donation will be highly appreciated. We ensure that all of your donations gathered from this donation drive will be given and delivered to the casualties.

In Shaa Allah, Allah will reward you for showing kindness and empathy in helping our fellow countrymen.

Allah says;

Kayo po ba ay naghahanap ng pagbibigyan ng inyong 𝙎𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙦𝙖𝙝/𝙕𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙩? This is your chance, Alhamdulillah! Mayroon po tayong Morit (Student studying Islam) na nangangailangan ng inyong tulong.
