๐Psalms 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with Peace.๐
๐The opening title of this Psalm is " ยถA Psalm of David." David was a man after God's heart and a type of Christ in the New Testament. He is the sweet Psalmist of Israel, the King of Israel, and a mighty champion who slayed the Giant Goliath.๐ค
๐This Psalm is all about the Lord. The Lord's name appears 18 times in all of the eleven verses of this chapter. Also, David's name does not appear anywhere in the whole chapter. The mighty warrior of Israel does not boast about his accomplishments. He bragged about his Lord, who He is, what the Lord has done and what He will do.๐ค
๐Verse 1 opens with these words, "Give unto the Lord." The second verse repeated the exact phrase. I understand from these: that our acknowledgment, reaction, response, and answer to the Lord must be a priority. Kings and mighty might boast about their ability, successes, power, education, and authority, but the Lord is Mighty. He is to be given worthy of our praise, glory, and worship. If David becomes powerful, it is because the Lord has blessed and helped him with those achievements. So the Lord Jesus Christ should be worthy to be worshipped in the beauty of His holiness. The word holy means that God is set apart from His creation. There is none besides the Lord. There is no one else who is worthy of sharing His glory. He is our God, He alone.๐ค
๐There is another phrase that David kept on repeating in this Psalm. The term "The Voice of the Lord" (v.3, twice in v.4, v.5, v.7, v.8, v.9). Repetition is the key to understanding this Psalm's message. This song is not an "ad lib" or a "repeat of stanzas." or fade in a typical song composition but a powerful build-up or push towards Peace. This Psalm is a thunderstorm song. Seven times, the strikes of thunder claps are identical to the "voice of the Lord." (Please reread the whole chapter again. oh, this is exciting!)๐
๐Psalms 29:10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. 11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with Peace.๐
๐"The LORD" is repeated four times in the last two verses. David reminded us that this Psalm is not about storms but the LORD who sits on top of the storm.๐ค
โค๏ธBrethren, the LORD who shows His strength in the thunderstorm, will be able and willing to give strength to His people, to bless them with power, might, and authority which the Lord God abundantly owns. The Source of our strength is not restricted by how much the LORD can give. He gives it abundantly and free. When we are weak and vulnerable, God will make us strong.๐ค
๐"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.," Isaiah 40:29.๐
๐Our strength comes from the Lord always, and I encourage you to look to the Lord and His strength and seek His face continually, and He will give you Peace. The Lord Jesus said in John 14:27, ๐"Peace I leave with you, my Peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."๐
