๐Ÿ“–Psalms 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with Peace.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™The opening title of this Psalm is " ยถA Psalm of David." David was a man after God's heart and a type of Christ in the New Testament. He is the sweet Psalmist of Israel, the King of Israel, and a mighty champion who slayed the Giant Goliath.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™This Psalm is all about the Lord. The Lord's name appears 18 times in all of the eleven verses of this chapter. Also, David's name does not appear anywhere in the whole chapter. The mighty warrior of Israel does not boast about his accomplishments. He bragged about his Lord, who He is, what the Lord has done and what He will do.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Verse 1 opens with these words, "Give unto the Lord." The second verse repeated the exact phrase. I understand from these: that our acknowledgment, reaction, response, and answer to the Lord must be a priority. Kings and mighty might boast about their ability, successes, power, education, and authority, but the Lord is Mighty. He is to be given worthy of our praise, glory, and worship. If David becomes powerful, it is because the Lord has blessed and helped him with those achievements. So the Lord Jesus Christ should be worthy to be worshipped in the beauty of His holiness. The word holy means that God is set apart from His creation. There is none besides the Lord. There is no one else who is worthy of sharing His glory. He is our God, He alone.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™There is another phrase that David kept on repeating in this Psalm. The term "The Voice of the Lord" (v.3, twice in v.4, v.5, v.7, v.8, v.9). Repetition is the key to understanding this Psalm's message. This song is not an "ad lib" or a "repeat of stanzas." or fade in a typical song composition but a powerful build-up or push towards Peace. This Psalm is a thunderstorm song. Seven times, the strikes of thunder claps are identical to the "voice of the Lord." (Please reread the whole chapter again. oh, this is exciting!)๐Ÿ‘ˆ
๐Ÿ“–Psalms 29:10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. 11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with Peace.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ‘‰"The LORD" is repeated four times in the last two verses. David reminded us that this Psalm is not about storms but the LORD who sits on top of the storm.๐Ÿค—
โค๏ธBrethren, the LORD who shows His strength in the thunderstorm, will be able and willing to give strength to His people, to bless them with power, might, and authority which the Lord God abundantly owns. The Source of our strength is not restricted by how much the LORD can give. He gives it abundantly and free. When we are weak and vulnerable, God will make us strong.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.," Isaiah 40:29.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Our strength comes from the Lord always, and I encourage you to look to the Lord and His strength and seek His face continually, and He will give you Peace. The Lord Jesus said in John 14:27, ๐Ÿ“–"Peace I leave with you, my Peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."๐Ÿ“–

๐Ÿ“–Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.๐Ÿ“–
โœ๏ธ"When you can't sleep, don't count sheep; talk to the Shepherd." We find this advice printed on posters, plaques, books, and billboards.๐Ÿ‘ˆ
๐Ÿ™We spend a considerable part of our lives sleeping, yet scientists tell us that no one knows and understands what sleep is. We understand that it is a manner and a time of rest when we fall asleep away into unconsciousness and then wake refreshed and ready for the new day. Some men and women need a lot of sleep, but others never sleep well. Some people can enjoy "cat naps'. These are short periods of rest at any given moment, for a few minutes or an hour, after which they wake up refreshed.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–Psalms 3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ“–Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™In the two psalms before us, we discover that God lovingly gives us help regarding the need for, and the way to gain, the maximum benefit from our sleeping habits. In Psalm 4:4, there is an appeal; in Psalm 4:8, we read of the Psalmist's decision; in Psalm 3:5, the writer gives us his testimony. Look at these three, and make all this personal in applying the truth on how we can sleep well.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ‘‰Harvard psychologists, Drs. Richard J. Davidson and Gary E. Schwartz conducted a study on insomnia. They concluded, "Visualizing sheep prevents the brain's right hemisphere from processing anxiety-provoking imagery, while the counting keeps the left hemisphere from straying into problematic thought" [Cambridge, MA: Harvard University papers, 1979]. Sometimes people can't sleep because of excitement, like a little boy on the night before Christmas. Sometimes sleep disorders require medical attention. I think the true reason why people could not sleep better, soundly and deeply, is because they do not have the peace of God.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Believers who trust in the Lord will have a steadfast mind. God will keep those who have a steadfast mind in perfect peace. Verse 4 says,๐Ÿ“– "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength."๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™People around us are seeking world peace, and if leaders in the world can get that peace, that will be their most outstanding achievement. But for the Believers like us, perfect peace results from the simple command to "trust in" the Lord.๐Ÿค—
Thou wilt keep him...
๐Ÿ™The Lord has created us. He then redeemed us after we fell into sin. He blesses us and keeps us in the palm of His hands.๐Ÿค—
in perfect peace,
๐Ÿ™This peace is "perfect," which means, "Without fault or defect, satisfying all the requirements." (Webster). It means "completeness" (Strong). When I think of perfect, I think of words like "pure, ideal, flawless, exact, absolute, complete, whole, precise." It is๐Ÿ“– "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding" ๐Ÿ“–(Phil. 4:6). It is the peace only Jesus gives. He said,๐Ÿ“– "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." ๐Ÿ“–(John 14:27). Perfect peace does not and will never exist apart from Jesus Christ.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–whose mind is stayed on thee๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Who do you think is this person that this verse that says who has the perfect peace? I believe the Believer who stayed his mind on the price that Jesus paid on the cross. It is the Believer whose mind is fixed and focused on the Saviour. God will keep him in perfect peace, those who trust in Jesus and His sacrifice. This does not necessarily mean that we will be at peace within ourselves all the time, but it does mean that we will be at peace with God continually.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–because he trusteth in thee.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Who is it that God will keep in perfect peace? It is the one: (1) "whose mind is stayed on thee"; and (2) "because he trusteth in thee." Both these expressions stand for faith, but although one is a head word, the other is a heart word. With our head, we believe; with our heart, we trust; with our head, we believe that God is the Author of peace, the Giver of peace; with the heart, we trust Him to bestow what He promises.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Do you still remember the lyrics of this beautiful hymn--"It Is Well?"
When PEACE like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say
It is well, It is well, WITH MY SOUL.๐Ÿ‘ˆ
๐Ÿ™Why is it always well with his soul even when "sorrows like sea billows roll"? I believe the writer of that hymn found the answer in Isaiah 26:3โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“–1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™King David was one of the key Old Testament figures from the Bible. But how do we remember David? โ€“ The shepherd boy who slew Goliath? The mighty general? The man after God's own heart? The murderer and adulterer? The mighty king of the nation Israel? Yes, David is all that and more โ€“ He is the true worshipper of God, and in our devotion today, you will find that David regularly seeks the face of God.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™1 Chronicle 16 is recorded as King David's Song of Thanks immediately after they brought God's Ark back to Jerusalem and set it inside the tent David had pitched for it and offered burnt and peace offerings before the Lord. King David's sole desire is found in chapter 13, verse 3:๐Ÿ“– "And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul."๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Israel had neglected mainly the Ark from Samuel's time until this point. David knew that the Ark was vital because it represented a lot of spiritual things:
๐Ÿ’›(a) God's Rule and Conduct - 1 Chr. 28:2
๐Ÿ’›(b) God's Reconciliation โ€“ Lev. 16: 14-15
๐Ÿ’›(c) God's Revelation โ€“ Ex. 25:22 โ€“ It was from there that the Direct Word was given.
๐Ÿ™What is the purpose of the Ark of the Covenant for the Israelites? The Ark was the place the presence of God rested.๐Ÿ“– "And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel." Exodus 25:22.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™David knew in his heart that the only way to receive the blessings and favor of God is to go back to God's Word and follow His Way. It is ONLY in following in God's revealed way that we can experience true and profound blessing.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–"Seek the LORD"๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ‘‰Why does David urge his people to seek the Lord? The rest of the chapter explains this one verse:
๐Ÿ’›Because of all His wonderful acts [9],
๐Ÿ’›Because of His wonders, His miracles, His judgment [12],
๐Ÿ’›Because He is the Lord our God [14],
๐Ÿ’›Because He remembers His covenant [15],
๐Ÿ’›Because He protects His people [21],
๐Ÿ’›Because of His marvelous deeds [24],
๐Ÿ’›Because He is to be feared above all gods [25],
๐Ÿ’›Because He made the heavens [26],
๐Ÿ’›Because He is full of strength and joy [27],
๐Ÿ’›Because of His name [28],
๐Ÿ’›Because of His holiness [29],
๐Ÿ’›Because He is good and His love endureth forever [34],
๐Ÿ’›Because He is everlasting [36].
๐Ÿ™David uses all these as supporting reasons why all should worship the Lord โ€“ and worship Him, we must first turn to God, look to God, and seek Him. We need to always eagerly seek God, even if it seems as if He is not nearby.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–"and his strength,"๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ“–I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.๐Ÿ“– (Phil.4:13) Our strength comes from God (1 Chr. 16:17). In God, there is great strength. He has an abundance of strength. In Him, we can gain great strength. The Lord's power is made perfect in our weaknesses [2 Cor 12:9). The strength of men โ€“ our own strength โ€“ will fail us. But the strength we can find in the Lord will never fail us.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ“–"Seek his face continually."๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Seek His face, seek His presence, seek the favor of God. Enjoy His gracious presence, His light countenance, and communion with Him through Christ.๐Ÿ“– "When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." (Psalm 27:8)๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™Daily news is filled with stories of murders, pandemics, tragedy, and sorrows. But some good stories are mixed in as well - the birth of a child, weddings, birthday celebrations and anniversaries, and even those who have been cured of covid. Still, all the stories of evil and sin, combined with a pandemic, are enough to feel that we are being robbed of our sense of safety. Our feelings of security were crushed away as Satan laughed at the destruction he brought. As a result, many Believers wonder where God is, if He is aware of what is happening here on earth and if He even cares.๐Ÿค—
โค๏ธBrethren, 1 Chronicle 16:11 tells us to always search for the Lord and His strength and to seek His face. Our relationship with Him is the only place to find stability in a world full of sin and brokenness. Our only security is in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ‘‰ Seek His Face.....

๐Ÿ“–Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ‘‰Dr. Bob Jones Sr. said, "The loveliest flower that blooms in the garden of the heart is the flower of gratitude; and when gratitude dies on the altar of man's heart, he's well nigh gone." That's a remarkable statement "When the gratitude dies on the altar of a man's heart, he's well nigh gone."๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™We read in Romans 1:21-28 were๐Ÿ“– "...when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations,...And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient."๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™It all started when they were not thankful. Because they were not thankful, God gave them up. Many sins are committed today due to a lack of genuine gratitude in the heart.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Gratitude is not part of our nature. Let me illustrate. Anything you have to be taught to do is not part of your nature, and anything you do without being taught is a part of your nature.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™For instance, it is a duck's nature to swim. When you throw him into the water, he floats automatically. He doesn't have to have a swimming lesson. But it is not the cat's nature to swim. If you throw him in the water, he will drown. It is not a bay's nature to swim. If you throw an infant in the water, he will drown. But an infant can be taught to swim, though it is not part of his nature. Anything you have to be taught to do is not part of your nature.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Things that come naturally are a part of your nature. That is why we say that a man is a sinner by nature. He doesn't have to be taught to sin. Sin comes naturally.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Now, it is the natural thing to be ungrateful. No child was ever born with gratitude in his heart. Most children are born with their fists clenched as if to say, "mine." They have to be taught to say, "Thank you." Sometimes it takes a lot of repetition to get the lesson over.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™A man can never be genuinely thankful until he recognizes where the things he possesses came from. You don't thank someone for something unless you know he is responsible for you having it. The men of the church gave me the Canon camera many years ago. Of course, I thanked them because I knew I wouldn't have it had it not been for them. And a man is not thankful in his heart until he realizes that everything he has come from God.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™James 1:17 says,๐Ÿ“– "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." ๐Ÿ“–When you realize that everything you have comes from God, you should feel genuine gratitude in your heart.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™My salvation is from the Lord. I owe my existence to the Lord. He holds a twofold right of ownership over me; The right of creation--He made me from the dust of the earth and gave me the breadth of life. My heart beats at His command; The right of redemption-- He bought me with His own blood at Calvary. Everything I have is from Him, and if I could only drive that point home to you! All you have and all you are because of God.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™Ephesians 5:20 commands,๐Ÿ“– "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"๐Ÿ“– A big order isn't it? He said we are to thank God for ALL things--even the bad things in life.๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ™The only way you can thank God for "all things" is to couple the "all things" of Ephesians 5:20 with "all things" of Romans 8:28, ๐Ÿ“–"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God."๐Ÿ“–
๐Ÿ™If you really believe that, you can thank God even for the bad things of life.๐Ÿค—

๐Ÿ™It is said that in Africa, there is a fruit called the "Taste-Berry," so named because it changes a person's taste. For several hours after one eats the Taste-Berry, everything is sweet and delicious, even the sour fruit.๐Ÿค—
โค๏ธBrethren, gratitude is the Taste-Berry of Christianity! When we are truly grateful, even the bitter things in life taste sweet.๐Ÿค—

๐Ÿ“–Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."
๐Ÿ™"If you were to die today and stand before God and He asked, 'Why should I let you into My heaven?' what would you say?" The question gets to the heart of, "What are you trusting in for eternal life?" The Bible says," ๐Ÿ“–"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
๐Ÿ™The only way any of us can enter into a relationship with God is because of His grace toward us. Grace began in the Garden of Eden when God killed an animal to cover the sin of Adam and Eve ๐Ÿ“–(Genesis 3:21). He could have killed them right then for their disobedience. But rather than destroy them, He chose to make way for them to be right with Him.
๐Ÿ™Paul began many of his letters with the phrase, "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" ๐Ÿ“–(Romans 1:7; Ephesians 1:1; 1 Corinthians 1:3). God is the instigator of grace, and it is from Him that all other grace flows.
๐Ÿ™Our salvation is not because of anything we have done or are even capable of doing. It is solely a matter of God's grace. He offered His salvation to us simply as an act of His grace. Like Paul, God's grace impacts the lives of believers in many ways. For example, (1) In ๐Ÿ“–Romans 5:1-2, Paul tells us that we are justified through faith. And by that same faith, we have gained access into the "grace in which we now stand." Our position before God is a matter of His grace. We come into His presence because of His grace. And we continue to stand in His presence because of His grace. (2) In ๐Ÿ“–1 Peter 4:10, we find Peter telling his readers to be faithful stewards of God's grace. God's grace is reflected in our lives through His equipping of believers to serve within the body of Christ in the Local Church. Our spiritual gifts reflect God's grace to the overall members of that Body in Christ and that God is working within us to grow the body and help it function at its best. (3) In ๐Ÿ“–2 Timothy 2:1, Paul instructs Timothy to "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus." We can only be strong, established, and settled when we are in Christ. God's grace surrounds us and is available only through Him.
๐Ÿ™We must remember that grace is always involved when God deals with His children. A gracious God will consistently demonstrate grace in all He does. I, as a believer, exist through His grace. That the sun shines and the rain falls due to His grace. My salvation, my standing with God, and my eternal future with him. It is all because of God's grace.
๐Ÿ™Praise God for His all-encompassing grace. His grace reached the depths of my sin and saved me. It is His grace that keeps me safe and secure in Him, both now and through eternity.
๐Ÿ™Brethren, grace is what God does because He is gracious. ๐Ÿ“–(Ex. 34:6) Every action of God toward us involves His grace. His creation, providence, the conviction of the sinner, gift of salvation, equipping of the saints, and the future He has prepared for us. All of this is due to God's grace. Blessed Be the Name of the Lord.!

๐Ÿ“–1 Samuel 12:22, "For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people."
๐Ÿ™We all know that in the O.T. that Israel had failed God terribly and had fallen into idolatry. As a result, they were slaves in Egypt for 400 long years. Generations passed without deliverance, but there came a day when God's love caused Him to stop the judgment for sin against His people. God wanted to be Israel's God! He wanted them to follow Him and obey His words. The reason behind 1 Samuel 12:22 is that Israel had demanded that Samuel appoint a special king for them to be like all the other nations. If you want to read the story of Israel's rebellion against the leadership of God, just read the 9th through the 15th chapters of I Samuel, and you will get a snapshot picture of what happened and the results.
๐Ÿ™In the Book of 1 Samuel, we find that Israel decides they would rather have a king than follow God's leading. What a slap in the face of God! It was as though they went to God and said, "your leadership isn't good enough. We would rather have a man to lead us, someone we can see and talk to like anyone else. You're just too hard to speak to and too hard to follow."
๐Ÿ™God had claimed them as His own, and He would not abandon them now. The Bible says, better not put your trust in a man, or let any man determine what the will of God for your life is. Our trust must be in the Lord Jesus Christ. You must follow the Holy Ghost and obey the Word of God. He said in verses 20-21, "Do not be afraid," "You have done all this evil, yet do not turn away from the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart. Do not turn to idols; they can't help and rescue you because they are useless."
๐Ÿ™Millions of people have read this verse (20) and been encouraged to keep walking with God! God's not out to get us, but to love us; He's working all things out for our good. Don't let the mountain of your sins stop you from serving the Lord! Repent, and God will forgive you.
๐Ÿ™Aren't you glad for God's love, God's mercy, and God's grace? I'm so happy that God's love for me doesn't change. He doesn't love me any less when I have failed him miserably and yielded to temptation and ran from His presence to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. His grace is always the same, reaching out to bring me back to Him and do all He can to convince me to restore my relationship with Him.
