SPPC Sacred Heart of Jesus, also known as La Huerta Chapel, is a Sub-Parish Pastoral Council under the Sto. It encompasses and serves the community of La Huerta Subdivision, Pasong Balite Hills, Antonette Town Homes, and Reyes Compound. In 1979, La Huerta Chapel was built on land donated by Delfin & Company. Demie Montiano, and others, along with the Block Rosary No. 15 group, spearheaded the fund

raising efforts to establish the construction of the chapel. Images, pews, and other equipment were also donated by the parishioners of La Huerta Subdivision. La Huerta Chapel coexisted with Sto. Cristo Parish when it was still a Sub-Parish Pastoral Council of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. The first priest to celebrate holy mass in the chapel was the late Rev. Vicente Vasquez. He was followed by Rev. Danny Bermudo, who served six years in our chapel; he was transported to and from Guiguinto Seminary. Narciso Sampana arrived at our parish, he succeeded Fr. Danny. During those times, La Huerta Chapel and Sto. Cristo Parish was not under the same umbrella until 1981 when Sto. Cristo Parish was decreed as a newly established independent parish by the former Malolos Bishop Cirilo R. Almario, JR, D.D. After the 1981 decree, all nearby chapels were absorbed by the Sto. Cristo Parish, with the La Huerta Chapel being one of its pioneer SPPC. During the time of Rev. Msgr. Ranillo Trillana, he allowed the leaders of each SPPC (Sub-Parish Pastoral Council) to choose the patron saint of their respective chapel. The Sacred Heart of Jesus was chosen as the patron of SPPC La Huerta. Bro. Demie Montiano has been the head of SPPC La Huerta since 1979. He passed it on to Bro. Samuel and Sis. Chola Cabagnot in 2017, because he permanently moved to Tagaytay City. Sam and Sis. Chola led the chapel from 2017 to 2022. The mass schedule of the chapel during the pre-pandemic period is held every Sunday at seven o’clock in the evening. Moreover, β€œSimbang Gabi” is also held during the Advent season. Mass celebrations in the chapel were halted during the pandemic in compliance with the safety health protocols released by the national health sector. Eucharistic celebrations in the chapel resumed in June 2021, upon the gradual ease of safety and health protocols. In December 2021, the β€œSimbang Gabi” novena was also resumed. From there, holy mass are held every second and fourth Saturday of the month at seven o’clock in the evening up to the present. Furthermore, the SPPC La Huerta coordinators have been Sis. Audrey Mallari and Bro. Dyronne Mallari since December 2022 up to the present. Their treasurer and social media manager is Bro. Klyde Nacua, and their advisers are Sis. Chola Cabagnot, Bro. Sam Cabagnot, and Sis. Lorena Balgue.
