Another meaningful step in our journey of building vibrant and Christ-centered youth communities! As we continue our Barangay Youth Assembly, we thank God for the successful establishment of another Youth Council in Barangay Buluangan II under the patronage of San Isidro Labrador

We are also pleased to formally present the newly elected officers of the Barangay Youth Council, who have generously accepted the call to serve and lead their fellow young people with faith, dedication, and commitment to the mission of the Church.

The Diocese of San Jose de Antique rejoiced as Rev. Fr. Mc James Termil Vitudio celebrated his Thanksgiving Mass, marking the beginning of his priestly ministry after receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

As one family in Christ, we give thanks for this precious vocation and pray that the Holy Spirit will continually lead him in proclaiming the Gospel and shepherding God's people.

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we warmly welcome 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙈𝙘 𝙅𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙡 𝙑𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙤. We thank God for guiding you to our faith community. We are honored to have you as our Parochial Vicar also being a new ordained priest from Parish of St. Luke the Evangelist and look forward to the spiritual leadership, wisdom, and compassion you will bring to our parish family.

As you begin your ministry among us, we pray that the Lord will bless you with strength, good health, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Following the sacred rites, the joy continued as the parish family gathered for a shared lunch, a simple yet beautiful expression of fellowship and gratitude. Tables were filled with laughter, stories, and blessings exchanged as clergy, religious, family, friends, and parishioners broke bread together to honor this milestone in the life of Fr. Mc James.

The spirit of celebration grew even brighter with offerings of music and culture. The Janiuay Parish Choir lifted our hearts with songs of praise and thanksgiving, filling the afternoon with harmony that echoed the joy of the ordination. Their voices became our prayer of gratitude for God’s gift of a new priest. Adding color and pride to the program, the students of Valderrama National High School graced us with a vibrant performance of Tinikling. With bamboo poles clicking to the rhythm and dancers moving with grace, they reminded us of the beauty of our heritage and the youthful spirit that surrounds Fr. Mc James.

From the altar to the table, and from prayer to song and dance, this day reminded us that the Church is alive in both worship and community.

As the bells rang and the altar was adorned, the celebration of the Holy Eucharist began, within which the sacred Rite of Ordination to the Presbyterate was conferred upon Rev. Mc James Termil Vitudio.

The church was filled with prayerful silence as the Liturgy of the Word proclaimed God’s call to service, and the homily reminded us that the priesthood is a life of self-giving, of shepherding with compassion, and of making Christ present in the Sacraments.

The most solemn moment came during the Rite of Ordination. With hearts bowed, we witnessed Rev. Mc James present himself before the Bishop, profess his resolve, and lie prostrate as the whole assembly invoked the Litany of Saints. In that holy stillness, the Bishop’s Laying on of Hands, joined by the concelebrating priests, marked the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon him. The anointing of hands, the presentation of the paten and chalice, and the fraternal embrace of the presbyterate sealed his configuration to Christ the High Priest.

Clothed in the vestments of a priest, Fr. Mc James ascended the altar for the very first time to concelebrate the Holy Mass. We watched with joy as he raised the chalice, offered incense before the altar, and pronounced the words of consecration, now with the authority to act in persona Christi. The same hands that were anointed now broke the Bread of Life for the people of God.

It was not only a ceremony we witnessed, but a grace made visible. Heaven and earth met at that altar, and the Church received a new laborer in the vineyard.

With deep gratitude to God, to the Bishop, to the clergy, and to all who prayed and supported Fr. Mc James on this journey, the Parish of St. Luke the Evangelist rejoices.
