Our starting point, goal, and motive is the honor of God. This is foundational for understanding why we do what we do. It is all about Him, not us.

Psalm 34:18
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

On Wednesday morning, a devastating landslide and flash flood struck the Nepal–Tibet border, causing widespread destruction and leaving hundreds of people dead or missing.

As we hear about this tragedy, let’s take a moment to pray for the people affected. Let’s pray for comfort for families who have lost loved ones, protection for those who are still in danger, strength and wisdom for rescuers, and peace for communities who are grieving.

Let’s come together and pray for the nations.

Let us gather together in prayer and worship as one family in Christ, turning our hearts fully toward the Lord and welcoming His presence among us. May our worship refresh our souls, deepen our faith, and remind us of God’s unfailing goodness. Let us lay down every worry, offer Him our gratitude, and trust His guidance as He leads us according to His perfect purpose.

As it is written in John 4:24 (ESV):

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We often see the workday as something mundane, something that we just need to get through. From the first ringing alarm to the end of our shift, many times “work” is just “what we do between rest days.”

On the other hand, we often see church as something ritual, something that makes the rest of our week holy.

The truth is that there is no mundane versus ritual, no sacred versus secular. Work is worship, part of our holy calling.

In the next three weeks, let us study the theology of work: how God designed work for us to flourish, and to reflect His glory in our communities.

May our worship renew our spirits, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to Him. Let us surrender our burdens, give thanks for His goodness, and trust Him to lead us according to His perfect will.

As it is written in Psalm 95:6 (ESV):

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!”

Last Saturday, our Iron Men gathering was a powerful reminder that true strength is found in God. Just as David strengthened himself in the Lord after the tragedy at Ziklag (1 Samuel 30:6), we were encouraged to stand firm, lead our families with faith, be strengthened as church community and trust God in every season.

May we continue to be husbands who seek God’s strength above our own and courageously lead our homes for His glory.

When we are afraid, we often find ourselves paralyzed, unable to make a decision. We may feel like we are facing a mountain trail, the trek becoming more and more challenging, with no guarantee that reaching the top will be worth the push.

However, when God calls us to do His will, He also gives us the courage and assurance that He has a plan and purpose for our lives. He goes before us, and walks with us every step of the way.

Over the next four weeks, let us journey together through the life and leadership of Joshua. We will see how when God calls His people forward, He gives them the courage and strength to finish strong.
