The Alabang Philippines Temple spire has been capped, and all of the scaffolding has been removed from the front of the building. This house of the Lord is a beautiful addition to Filinvest City, a master-planned urban center development located on the south side of Metro Manila in Muntinlupa. It is the second temple to be constructed in Metro Manila and will help alleviate demands of the busy Manila Philippines Temple. (Photo: LhexiMont)

"I have PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome), that's why my husband and I had a hard time conceiving," revealed Jovelyn Pigao Mejorada, who's been married for nearly three years now. "For almost two years, we were really trying to have a baby. Then miraculously a week after we got sealed in the Manila Temple, we got pregnant."

She continued, "We were surprised, even science can’t explain what happened. After that we really promised the Lord that we will do everything for the Temple."

To uphold their promise, Jovelyn and her husband served as core team members of the Usher Sub-Committee for the Urdaneta Temple Open House and Dedication. She was four months pregnant then.

"I actually didn't feel any fatigue," she noted referring to the long hours of assisting guests during the two sessions of the dedication and also during the open house. "I was happy and it felt good."

Currently, the couple serve as temple ordinance workers at the Urdaneta Temple.

"The miracle of the temple for me and my husband is our baby," she shared.

The Mejorada couple welcomed their miracle baby boy last October 7, 2024.

Immediately after discharge from the hospital, baby Azriel Grae visited the Urdaneta Philippines Temple. ❤️

"I am having a hard time accepting this disease, but I will accept it," 45-year old Marinela Claveria from Dagupan City uttered in her prayer in the Urdaneta Temple on May 15, 2024.

Marinela, a mother of five was diagnosed with breast cancer on April 2024, as shown in her mammogram and breast ultrasound results, and manifested by the several disease symptoms she experienced.

"My world shattered. I was staring into nothing while walking back towards my husband. He hugged me even before I could utter a word," she described.

She then burst into tears.

"That night, I couldn't sleep. My husband and son gave me a priesthood blessing," she shared. "My family and I prayed every night."

She was advised by her doctor to immediately undergo biopsy for the big, malignant tumor. While waiting for the results, which took more than a month, her family went to the temple to pray.

Recalling parts of her prayer she shared, "I know You will not give me a trial I won't be able to triumph over. I know that You gave me (such ordeal) to make me strong."

Marinela continued, describing the part where she mentioned her 19-year old youngest child to whom she's greatly concerned about, "Right now, Stephen still needs me. I know You don't want him to be a lost soul. I know I don't have the right to demand anything from Thee because I am forever indebted unto Thee."

She further recalled, "But this time, Father, I ask from Thee to please give me a longer life so I can continue to guide my children, especially Stephen who's on a different path right now. I still want to see all my children be in a safe and good condition."

When the biopsy results came in on June 19, 2024, her doctor was shocked and couldn't believe his eyes!

He immediately did a quick physical examination on Marinela. "It's totally gone!" her doctor exclaimed referring to the tumor.

Marinela relayed, "He said that my case, diagnosed with a malignant tumor and a sure breast cancer to having the tumor completely disappear is very rare."

Her doctor even consulted with another physician, as he was puzzled by the biopsy results, which was benign and didn't match her mammogram and breast ultrasound results.

She added, "My doctor did a biopsy just to know what stage my cancer is. But it turned out that the tumor miraculously melted."

"I cried again and had goosebumps," she shared. "I couldn't believe what I was hearing (from my doctor)."

"This is a miracle. Go home and celebrate!" her doctor blurted out.

Marinela said that what healed her were faith, fasting, prayers, going to the temple, healthier lifestyle, and the faithful services of her fourth child, Sayra who's serving a full-time mission.

Today, Sister Claveria, her fourth returned missionary child came home from Cebu Mission; and just recently, Stephen returned to the fold and is now preparing to serve a full-time mission. ❤️

Some 17 youth from Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, while inside the Waiting Room of the Urdaneta Temple before performing proxy baptisms, did an activity they called "Scripture Experiment," where they asked life questions and searched for answers from the scriptures.

Daniela Laurice Figueroa, 17, invited her fellow youth to participate in the activity which she learned from missionaries.

The mechanics included someone who would ask a question and another person would randomly open the scriptures then say 'stop' whenever he or she feels like it. Then the person holding the scriptures would ask "left or right," and would randomly read a verse from the specific side of the scriptures his or her fellow participants would choose.

Fifteen-year old Steven Shane Baquiran asked if he is able to balance church responsibilites, seminary, and school.

"The answer I got was: if I'd strive to keep the commandments and strengthen my faith in Him, I will be blessed," he shared. "The Lord will also help me to avoid temptations and He will also allow me to experience miracles."

Jerrylene Alta Briones, 15, asked "Why is the sacrament important?" The group found the answer from 1 Nephi 17:40, which says: "And he loveth those who will have him to be their God. Behold, he loved our fathers, and he covenanted with them, yea, even Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and he remembered the covenants which he had made; wherefore, he did bring them out of the land of Egypt."

Daniela on the other hand asked: "Do I need to change for the sake of the people in my circle? Do I have to follow everything they wish to happen?"

Helaman 14:30 gave her this answer: "And now remember, remember, my brethren, that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself; for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for behold, God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free."

Fifteen-year old Mary Hannah Briones asked why there are various types of religions and the answer she received made her feel that she is "on the right path."

The group was amazed at how all of their questions were answered.

Other questions the youth asked involved modesty, choosing friends, death, obedience, and many more.

Daniela testified, "I learned that the scriptures are very powerful. They don't only provide us with knowledge and lessons but they will also answer all of our questions, we just need to make time to read." ❤️

"In the celestial room as I was about to offer my personal prayer, I closed my eyes and said 'Heavenly Father...' I stopped because I heard a quiet whisper in my right ear: 'Thank you,'" described Girlie Garcia. "I wanted to open my eyes to see who said that but I felt somehow nervous and instead, I continued to pray. After my prayer I smiled because someone was happy because she finally got endowed."

Girlie together with the leaders of their ward in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija visited the temple on July 26-27, 2024 to assist the youth perform proxy baptisms.

She initially did not plan to attend a session in the instruction room but together with two other friends, she decided to write their names on the waiting list for the 11:30am session. The three were able to get a slot.

Girlie said that the name of the person which she performed proxy endowment for was "hard to pronounce." "It sounded Korean," she shared. "The death date caught my attention. It was 1285. I could hardly believe it."

She continued, "Indeed a lot of souls are waiting for us to help them be exalted and be with their loved ones forever." ❤️
