Umingan, with the name of Langolango, was a barrio of Tayut up to the year 1832, by which time His Excellency Archbishop of Manila Don Fray Jose Sehui,

Apostolic Governor in a vacant see added it to Lupao, with the name of Umingan, taken from a river immediately so called, destroying the first barrio of Langolango, the transferred its inhibitants to the new one called Umingan. in 1843 it verified the separation from its parent Lupao, and was erected it as a town taking charge of their spiritual administration, at the request of this same town, and with the superior permission, this apostolic province of St. It is located at 15''56'42" latitude, in a beautiful clear plain at the foot of the hill Biray, on the banks of the river which it takes it name. Joseph a distant of three leguas; on the Northwest with that of San Quintin at a little more the same distance; and on the southwest with that of Rosales at three leguas. Its Climate is fresh and healthy, with good ventilation, especially from the North that prevails more commonly. The most common disease are intermittent fevers, which often attack, with particularity, in the months of December, January and February. Until the year 1849 these fever were climate in great degree, that there are already far fewer cases, and almost none fatal. The First Church was built of bamboo and nipa by Fray Jose Miralles In the year of 1844 and dedicated to the glorious martyr St. Dionysius the Areopagite and was burned because of war, and later on rebuild by Fray Castro Perez that which exist today in wood with stone foundations, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin in the unique and adorable mystery of her Immaculate Conception, taking six yards long by ten and nine and a half wide. There is a wooden Royal House, with its regular prison; a school of primary instruction, gifted by the contribution of the community, and one girls paid for by the interested; seven sheds or warehouses for airing of to***co, capable of containing about four thousand bales, and abut seven hundred houses of bamboo canes, in the style of the country, distributed in five barrios named S.Jose, Santa Maria de Cartelle, Baligaya, Caridad and Gonzalo. Organizing and realizing an event of this magnitude was not an easy task. It required countless hours of preparation, cooperation, perseverance, and sacrifice. I commend the leadership of our PPC president, Through your collective efforts and commitment, what once seemed challenging has become a beautiful and meaningful celebration of faith, unity, and devotion. As we begin our journey as pilgrims, we have joy and hope in our hearts, we walk not individually but as a Parish towards a single goal. We have different aspirations, but we travel as one and conquer our journey with a greatful heart.
