Tupi Ward Mother's Day Celebration

"There is no way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one."
—Jill Churchill

It is said that when a woman chooses to become a mother, her life no longer revolves around herself; it is instead dedicated to a lifetime of nurturing, strengthening, and loving her children.

It is easy for us to fixate on moments when they speak bluntly, act with sternness, or pressure us regarding our future path. However, at the heart of their every action, word, and thought is a woman who wants nothing more than to guide her child to become a virtuous, empathetic, faithful, and resilient human being.

As part of our Mother's Day Celebration, the young women and young men of Tupi prepared heartfelt messages and simple tokens dedicated to all our mothers.

These astounding women answer the call to mold a gentler, safer, and more caring society of better tomorrows.

Truly, we can all attest to the truth shared by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland: "No love in mortality comes closer to approximating the pure love of Jesus Christ than the selfless love a devoted mother has for her child."

YSA MOVIE NIGHT

Great snacks are best shared with close friends and a lighthearted movie, don't you think?

The young single adults of Tupi Ward did just that last April 8, 2026, at their local chapel.

The program started off with a wonderful analogy shared by President Romero. He compared our lives to the movies we watch and adore, emphasizing that behind the scenes of our own movies, one role pivotal to the story is that of the director. In our lives, Jesus Christ is the director. Responsible for overseeing how the story moves forward, he reminded us to exercise our faith in Him, trusting Him as the author of our faith and of our lives.

As the program went on, principles about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and diligence were highlighted by Sister Navarro and Sister Balayon.

This activity not only reminded us to strengthen and minister to one another, but also to continue to hold onto Jesus Christ, the author of our faith, and to seek every good thing He offers us in this life.

Our lives, like movies, may have various genres and plots to work with and tomorrows that may seem unpredictable. But remember that with Jesus Christ, our journeys filled with uncertainty and trials will have joyful endings if we do our best while we walk with Him.

Heavenly Home on Earth

A wonderful reminder inscribed on the temple reads, "Holiness to the Lord: The House of the Lord." This emphasizes a great truth to all mankind: there is a holy place for us to visit where we can literally feel our loving Heavenly Father's presence.

In the scriptures, this house is described as a refuge, sanctuary, and a place of worship for His children. It is where we make sacred covenants with Him—covenants that help us to become more grounded in our faith in the Savior.

Tupi Ward attended the Davao Temple Open House to be reminded of these divine truths. The youth and YSAs went there—along with the General Santos Stake—on March 28, 2026, followed by the other ward members on April 2–3.

Through Him and His house, numerous blessings will become more accessible to all His children as we come to learn of Him in the temple, knowing that eternity is real and attainable.

It stands as a promise that in a world where uncertainty and turmoil drive our focus away from Him, there will always be peace and joy found within His home here on earth.

Tupi Ward Bishopric Reorganization

March 29, 2026, marked a memorable day for Tupi Saints as Bishop Eduard Escorial was called and set apart as bishop of the new bishopric, along with Brother Walter Navarro and Brother Niel Romero as first and second counselors.

The new bishopric, along with their wives, shared their enthusiasm and determination to exert great effort in spreading and strengthening the Lord’s marvelous work in Tupi.

They were sustained during a special ward conference held the same day.

Bishop Ronald Rodrigo, Brother Walter Navarro, and Bishop Eduard Escorial served as the bishopric of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2020 to 2026.

We express deep gratitude and joy to the members who previously served in the bishopric for their unwavering support, love, and faith in magnifying their callings.

We gladly extend our support and joy in sustaining the new bishopric called to serve in Tupi Ward.

Year End Party: Youth and YSA

What a fun and memorable way to end the year 2025!

Lasting jokes, scrumptious food, and funny gifts were shared as the youth and YSAs huddled together last night, December 23, 2025.

They sported cute, but mostly witty outfits with the theme entitled "Showed Up at the Wrong Event."

This simple event refocused their perspective on the true purpose of Christmas, which is to create lasting memories with people who share love and gifts through Jesus Christ.

Tufi Ward Performs in Stake Jubilee Celebration

Tufi Ward showcased their graceful dancing skills through a symbolic dance presentation during the General Santos Philippines Stake Jubilee Celebration on September 27, 2025, at the General Santos Philippines Stake Center.

The members represented the beautiful Blaan tribe, one of the indigenous groups in their municipality. The ward’s dance presentation depicted the everyday life of the people; such as planting and harvesting crops, hunting, and weaving the intricate patterns of their mesmerizing clothing.

The central message of their presentation is to always practice gratitude to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through prayer in this ever-changing world, highlighting that the true fortune in life is living with a grateful heart.

Tufi Ward not only presented the unique culture and tradition of the great Blaan people but also emphasized gratitude as an attribute for gaining happiness and satisfaction in our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. Truly, celebrating the culture of one’s tribe is remembering the enduring faith of its people.

He Delighteth in the Song of the Heart

On the morning of September 7, 2025, the choir members of Tupi Ward performed a musical number at the General Santos Stake Conference Adult Session.

The choir sang their hearts out to the hymn "Called to Serve" in the Bisaya translation, entitled "Gitawag sa Pagserbisyo".

Psalm 149
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints

08/09/2025

"Let us as a people become a true light on the hill—a light that “cannot be hid.” Let us show that there is a peaceful, respectful way to resolve complex issues and an enlightened way to work out disagreements.

"As you demonstrate the charity that true followers of Jesus Christ manifest, the Lord will magnify your efforts beyond your loftiest imagination."

— President Russell M. Nelson, general conference, Apr. 2023
