Christus resurrexit, alleluia! Alleluia!
Dear brothers and sisters, today we proclaim the heart of our faith: Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. Easter is not only a remembrance of an event in the past—it is the living reality that transforms our lives today.
As Saint Paul reminds us, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile” (1 Corinthians 15:17). But Christ has been raised, and because He lives, we too are given new life.
The Resurrection is God’s victory over sin and death. What seemed like defeat on the Cross becomes triumph in the empty tomb. In the Risen Christ, we see that love is stronger than hatred, mercy stronger than sin, and life stronger than death. This is the hope we celebrate at Easter.
Through our Baptism, we share in this new life.
As taught in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1214), we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. Easter calls us, then, to live as people of the Resurrection—turning away from sin, embracing holiness, and becoming witnesses of Christ’s light in the world.
The empty tomb also sends us on mission. Like Mary Magdalene, we are called to announce: “I have seen the Lord!” (John 20:18). Our words, actions, and lives must proclaim the joy of the Gospel.
Christus resurrexit, alleluia!
He is truly risen—let us walk in His light and share His life with others.
