Day 1 is done, but the adventure is only beginning! Filled with laughter, friendship, and faith-filled moments, SPCYM has taken its first step in this beautiful AYGA journey.

With open hearts and joyful spirits, we're ready to say "YES" to God's call, His surprises, and the mission He has prepared for us.

July 25, 2026 | Feast of Saint James, Apostle

St. James the Apostle, one of the first disciples called by Jesus, reminds us that following Christ requires courage, faith, and a willing heart. Through his unwavering devotion and fearless witness, he became the first Apostle to give his life for the Gospel, inspiring generations to remain steadfast in their faith despite every challenge

As we pray through his intercession today, may we have the courage to respond to God's call with generous hearts, remain steadfast in our faith despite life's challenges, and become joyful witnesses of Christ's love wherever He leads us.

INVITATION | WELCOMING OF THE RELIC OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI

The St. Peter Metropolitan Cathedral warmly invites everyone to the welcoming of the Nationwide Pilgrimage of the Relic of St. Francis of Assisi on August 1.

Join us at 5:00 PM for the Welcome Rite, followed by the 5:15 PM Eucharistic Celebration. After the Eucharistic Celebration, it will followed by the Veneration of the Holy Relic.

Then, the relic will be transferred in procession will be enshrined at the Poor Clare Monastery of the Eucharistic Lord.

Heavenly Father,
You are the Source of all life, hope, and love.
We thank You for gathering us as one family in this
Archdiocesan Youth General Assembly 2026. As we begin this sacred journey,
open our hearts to Your presence and lead us back to You,
the true Source of our faith and mission.
Lord Jesus Christ,
Walk with us as our companion on this pilgrimage of conversion.
Renew our hearts, strengthen our faith,
and teach us to follow You with courage and joy.
Help us to leave behind whatever keeps us from loving You fully,
so that we may become faithful missionary disciples,
ready to bring Your Gospel to our families, parishes,
schools, workplaces, and communities.
Holy Spirit,
Fill us with Your wisdom and light.
Guide our conversations, our prayers, and our discernment.
May we listen attentively to one another, recognize Your voice
in every encounter, and respond generously to Your call.
Ignite within us the fire of missionary zeal, that we may become instruments of hope,
peace, and love for the young people of today.
Loving Mother Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help,
Accompany us throughout this gathering.
Teach us to say "Yes" to God's will with humility and trust.
Protect all our delegates, facilitators, speakers, volunteers, and organizers, and lead
us always closer to your Son, Jesus.
May this AYGA 2026 renew our hearts, strengthen our communion,
and inspire us to become a Synodal Church
that journeys together—listening, discerning, and serving with joyful hearts.

July 24, 2026 | “But the seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it.” (Matthew 13:18-23)

The Gospel today reminds us that God's Word is always being planted in our hearts, but how we receive it depends on the kind of soil we allow our hearts to become. Sometimes, our hearts are like the path, where we hear God's Word but quickly forget it. Sometimes, we are like rocky ground, excited at first but easily discouraged when trials come. There are also moments when our hearts are filled with worries, fears, and worldly desires that become like thorns, slowly suffocating God's Word within us.

But Jesus invites us to become good soil to listen, understand, and allow His Word to take root in our lives. As Pope Francis reflected, Jesus continues to sow generously even when He knows that our hearts may be filled with stones and thorns. He does not give up on us. He continues to hope that we will grow and bear fruit.

Today, let us ask ourselves: What kind of soil is my heart? Am I truly allowing God's Word to change me, or am I letting my worries and distractions take over? May we not only hear God's Word but also live it through our actions, choices, and love for others.

The seeds we plant through small acts of kindness, patience, forgiveness, and faith may seem insignificant, but God can make them grow in ways we may never see. Like the sower, may we continue to sow goodness, trusting that God will bring the fruit in His own time.

July 23, 2026 | "I am the vine, you are the branches." (John 15: 1–8)

Almost all the time when we hear the word "branch," "vine," or "vineyard," we instantly associate it with God.

A church server may say, "I am serving in the Lord's vineyard."

One might ask, why vine?

Today's Gospel helps us understand exactly why.

A vine, by definition, is any plant that relies on climbing or creeping along a surface to get support.

A vine's growth is always upward and in need of support.

In the Gospel, Jesus says, "I am the true vine." This is because Jesus is our way of going up to the Father.

But Jesus also says, "You are the branches." A branch cannot live on its own. It remains alive only as long as it stays connected to the vine. Once it is cut off, it slowly withers and dies.

The same is true for us. As young people, we have dreams, talents, and ambitions. We want to grow, succeed, and become the best version of ourselves. But if we try to do everything on our own and forget Jesus, we become like a branch separated from the vine. We may still look alive for a while, but eventually we lose the strength that only Christ can give.

That is why Jesus reminds us, "Remain in me, as I remain in you." Remaining in Him means praying, listening to His Word, receiving Him in the Eucharist, and serving Him with love. When we stay connected to Jesus, our lives begin to bear fruit—not only in our ministry, but also in our families, schools, friendships, and daily lives.

As members of the Youth Ministry, we are not called to simply be busy with activities. We are first called to remain in Christ. Because no matter how talented we are, no matter how active we become, without Him, we can do nothing.

Today, let us ask ourselves: Am I still connected to the True Vine? May we always choose to remain in Jesus, so that through our words, actions, and service, we may bear much fruit and bring others closer to Him.

July 22, 2026 | Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

St. Mary Magdalene, the faithful disciple who encountered the mercy of Christ and became the first witness of His Resurrection, reminds us that God's love has the power to transform every heart. Her unwavering devotion and courage inspire us to remain faithful to Jesus, even in the midst of trials, and to boldly proclaim the hope found in Him.

As we pray through her intercession today, may we be strengthened to seek Christ with sincere hearts, trust in His boundless mercy, and become joyful witnesses of His love in our homes, schools, and communities.

St. Mary Magdalene, pray for us! 🙏

July 22, 2026 | "I have seen the Lord." (John 20:1–2, 11–18)

There are moments in our lives when we feel lost, hurt, or uncertain about where God is leading us. Like Mary Magdalene, we may find ourselves searching for answers while carrying our own pain and struggles. Yet, in the midst of her sorrow, Jesus called her by name, and everything changed. She recognized that the Lord was alive and that she was not alone.

Today's Gospel reminds us that Jesus knows us personally. Even when we feel forgotten or when we cannot understand what is happening in our lives, He is always near. Sometimes, we are so focused on what we have lost that we fail to notice God's presence beside us. Like Mary, we are invited to open our hearts, recognize Jesus, and allow Him to transform our sorrow into hope.

As we encounter Christ in our own lives, we are also called to become witnesses of His love. Our experiences, struggles, and even our pain can become a testimony that God never abandons us. May we have the courage to say, like Mary Magdalene, "I have seen the Lord," and share the hope of the Resurrection with others through our words, actions, and faith.

July 21, 2026 | "Whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother." (Matthew 12:46–50)

We often think of family as the people we are related to by blood. While these relationships are a precious gift from God, Jesus invites us to see something even deeper. In today's Gospel, He teaches that those who listen to God's word and faithfully do His will become part of His family. This is not a rejection of His mother or relatives. Rather, it is a reminder that the strongest bond is created through faith, love, and obedience to the Father.

Today's Gospel challenges us to ask ourselves: Am I living as a true member of God's family? Every time we choose kindness over resentment, forgiveness over revenge, and service over selfishness, we reflect the love of Christ and become witnesses of His Kingdom. God's family grows whenever we live according to His will.
