Today, we celebrate the feast of Saint Isidore the Farmer (San Isidro Labrador), the patron saint of farmers and workers, and of Barangay Linao.

Born in Madrid, Spain in the 11th century, Saint Isidore lived a simple life as a farm laborer but was known for his deep faith, generosity to the poor, and miracles that occurred through his prayers and hard work in the fields.

As we honor San Isidro, may we be reminded of the value of humility, hard work, and prayer in our daily lives. Through his intercession, may our community be blessed with abundance, peace, and faith.

San Isidro Labrador, pray for us!

Saint Rose of Lima Parish Successfully Holds First Team Building cm Rest and Recreation

Under the leadership of the Parish Priest and the Parish Pastoral Council President of Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Rev. Fr. Andres C. Gumangan, the parish successfully held its first-ever Team Building cm Rest and Recreation on April 24, 2026, at Bloomingdale Garden, Iguig, Cagayan. The event brought together churchworkers of all ages for a day filled with joy, collaboration, and spiritual reflection, anchored on the theme: โ€œServing Together, Growing in Faith.โ€

The program featured four thoughtfully prepared team-building activities, the Masterโ€™s Plan, Walk with Faith, Silent Connection, and Bucket of Blessings. All were designed to strengthen unity, communication, and trust within the parish community.

Throughout the day, the venue was filled with laughter, cheers, and meaningful moments of reflection, making the experience both enjoyable and enriching for all participants. More than just a series of recreational activities, the event became a meaningful expression of community life, where listening, leading, and unity are lived out in faith.

The success of this first team-building initiative marks an important step in building stronger relationships among parish workers, as they continue to serve together and grow in faith as one body in Christ.

Today, we celebrate the 28th Presbyteral Anniversary of Fr. Andy, our parish priest, whose life quietly reflects the humility of Christ. In his ministry, he constantly reminds us that Godโ€™s mercy is never out of reach, and that forgiveness is not just a teaching but a way of life. Through his words and example, he leads us to see faith not as something distant, but as something lived daily, in patience, in kindness, and in surrender to Godโ€™s will.

Fr. Andy continues to inspire us to follow Christโ€™s path of humble service, choosing love even in the simplest acts. His reflections often bring us back to what truly matters: to forgive as we have been forgiven, to serve without seeking recognition, and to love with sincerity. In him, we are reminded that holiness is found not in grand gestures, but in a heart that is willing to give itself fully for others.

Fr. Andy inspires our parish community to embody compassion in action, encouraging each of us to reflect Christ in the way we treat others. As we give thanks for his 28 years of faithful service, we pray for his continued strength and guidance.

REMEMBERING POPE FRANCIS
Today is the first death Anniversary of Pope Francis. He passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 at Casa Santa Marta within Vatican City. Having served as the head of the Catholic Church for 12 years since his election in 2013, he left a lasting legacy of pastoral leadership and humility. Eternal rest grant unto Pope Francis, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests.
Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help our priests to be strong in their vocation.
Set their souls on fire with love for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministry.
Help them to become instruments of your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest.
Amen.

The Paschal Triduum reaches its glorious culmination as the faithful of Saint Rose of Lima Parish joyfully celebrate Easter Sunday, proclaiming the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead.

The celebration began with the traditional Padafun (in Tagalog 'Salubong') held at the patio of the parish, a cherished expression of faith that commemorates the joyful meeting of the Risen Christ and His Blessed Mother. Through this meaningful tradition, the faithful were reminded that sorrow and mourning are transformed into hope and victory through the Resurrection.

Following the solemn and joyful encounter, the community gathered for the Holy Mass of Easter Sunday, giving praise and thanksgiving to God for the triumph of Christ over sin and death.

As one Church and one community of believers, the faithful rejoiced in the light of the Resurrection, renewed in faith, strengthened in hope, and called to live as witnesses of the Risen Lord.

On the Easter Vigil on the Holy Night, the faithful celebrate Christโ€™s triumph over sin and death. Through His great love, we are saved, renewed, and restored in our relationship with God.

Here at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Rev. Fr. Andres C. Gumangan led the Blessing of the Fire and the Easter Vigil, beginning in darkness, a powerful reminder of a world waiting for the light of Christ. From the newly blessed fire, the Paschal Candle was lit, symbolizing Christ as the Light of the World.

After this, the Liturgy of the Word reveals Godโ€™s enduring love and faithfulness throughout history. This was followed by the blessing of water and renewal of baptismal promises, embracing the life of grace won for us by Christ.

The night concluded with the risen Christ becoming truly present among His people, nourishing us and strengthening us for a greater mission.

In a world that is uncertain, will we choose hatred, fear, and despair or love, kindness, and generosity to others? As we receive the light of Jesus, we are also entrusted with the responsibility to carry and radiate this light to others.

As the Paschal Triduum continues, we solemnly commemorate Good Friday, recalling the passion, suffering, and death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross.

As part of this sacred observance, parishioners from the different barangays of Atulayan, Linao, and Annafunan joined the Stations of the Cross, with the 14th Station culminating at the parish, symbolizing Christโ€™s final journey to Calvary.

In the afternoon, selected parishioners offered a reflection on the Seven Last Words of Jesus, inviting the faithful to meditate deeply on Christโ€™s boundless love, mercy, and sacrifice for the salvation of humanity.

The solemn liturgy continued with the Celebration of the Lordโ€™s Passion, the Veneration of the Holy Cross, and the reception of Holy Communion, drawing the community into prayerful remembrance of the Lordโ€™s redemptive death.

As dusk fell, the faithful joined the solemn Procession of the Santo Entierro and Mater Dolorosa around the parish, walking together in silence, prayer, and mourning, yet holding firm to the hope of the Resurrection.
