HOW TO GROW YOUR YOUTH MINISTRY 🔥
“Honestly, hindi ko po alam kung anong gagawin ko kasi paulit-ulit lang po. Minsan may uma-attend pero meron din pong tumitigil. Minsan po nanghihina na din ako bilang youth leader. Naguguluhan na po ako.”
Ang sakit sa pusong marinig ito. 😭😭😭
When I heard this, sobrang naka-relate ako because I’ve been there before.
Same struggle.
Same pain.
Same feels na…parang gusto ko ng sumuko.💔
Pero, thank God, hindi niya hinayaan ‘yun.
Actually, one of the things that God revealed to me when I asked Him to help me in this ministry is to “CREATE A MINISTRY MAP.”
Nung pumunta ka sa mall na hindi mo kabisado, nakakita ka ng “map” sa entrance di ba?
Usually, lalapit ka sa map at hahanapin mo yung gusto mong puntahan.
Dalawa ang purpose ng map.
👍Una, sinasabi nito kung nasaan ka. “Andito ka!”
(Knowing where you are in the first important piece of information you need to successfully navigate to the desired destination.)
👍Ikalawa, binibigyan ka nito ng direction kung saan mo gustong makarating.
(Knowing your destination is every bit as important as knowing where you are.)
Where are we right now in the Youth Ministry?
Where do we want to go in the next 3, 5, or 10 years?
What are our mission and vision?
Are we here for many years but still not growing because of some issues we need to address?
Do I have a potential support team to help me lead the youth?
How do I want the Youth Ministry to look like?
The map also shows you how to get there.
That’s why your ministry needs to have a map to help you how to get from here to there.
So, while you are creating a ministry map by identifying where you are right now, where you want to go and how you will get there, you are also BUILDING a solid foundation of things in your ministry.
While it’s good to know that you are called, it’s better to partner it with a “thriving plan.”
Because at the end of the day, our action matters a lot.
"Faith without works is dead." (James 2:26)
Evaluate what’s going on and what are the things that you want to improve.
Dahil ‘yun yung wala kami noon. Kaya pala, we’re bound to fail when we face tough challenges.
Wala kaming direction.
Kahit vision and mission wala kami. (Feeling ko kasi nun hindi yun mahalaga kaya ako mismo, di ko alam kung saan ako mago-operate.)
Kaya pala yung mga events, hindi naka-align towards achieving the vision and mission of the Youth Ministry.
Hindi ko din alam na dapat may support team ka para mag-thrive. (Feeling ko kasi nun superhero ako…na kaya kong mapalago ang ministry na mag-isa).
Mali pala 'yun!
Tapos ang dami naming youth, kaso hindi ko alam yung iba church-goers lang pala.
Dahil wala kaming scoreboard, hindi ko alam na dapat pala alam ko din yung health ng bawat isang youth.
Are they learning and becoming disciples of Christ? Or they are just Sunday goers.
Importante pala ‘yun na alam ko kung anong journey nila.
Kaya pala kulang ang growth sa youth ministry. At yung iba? Ayun, nawawala na lang na parang bula.
Pero HINDI ITO DAPAT.
Kaya nga as youth leaders, we need to keep track and check their progress every now and then.
That's what I learned. 🙂
Question: Meron na ba kayong "ministry map"?
If wala pa, start na!
I encourage you to write it down! ❤
Remember what the Lord said:
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” - Habakkuk 2:2-3 ❤
A great leader is also a strategic leader.
If you want to experience breakthrough at hindi na paulit-ulit ang nararanasan niyo, you have to be strategic. Just like the ministry of Jesus.
And yes! You have to build that “thriving plan” to move forward!
Kahit may pandemic. 🙂
Dahil hindi dapat mapigilan ng coronavirus ang plan niya para sa atin.
