As the Paschal Triduum begins—the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ—we are invited into a most solemn remembrance.
On this sacred occasion, Jesus left a memorial through two profound gestures of His love: the offering of His own Body and Blood in the form of bread and wine, and His humble act of washing the feet of His disciples.
These acts reveal that the highest form of love is found in total self-giving for the sake of the beloved. In freely offering His life on the Cross, Christ showed the fullness of this love. At the same time, He calls His followers to cast aside all forms of self-entitlement, honor, and pride, and to serve one another with humility—out of love for each other and, above all, out of love for God.
