IN THE POTTER'S GRIP

A lump of clay, unformed, unknown,
I sit beneath the Potter's throne.
His fingers trace my jagged edge,
And gently press me to His pledge.

He works with patience, deep and slow,
His hands reveal what I don't know.
Each groove, each line, with purpose placed,
He shapes my life with boundless grace.

When storms arise, when I may break,
He gathers me for mercy’s sake.
No piece is lost, no shard in vain,
The Potter works through joy and pain.

And when the fire tests my frame,
I trust He’ll strengthen me the same.
For in His hands, my shape shall stand,
Refined and whole, by His command.
