We mourn, with deep and heavy hearts, the passing of our Kuaban ug Higala, Nigel Matchuca.
His death is not only a loss to our community—it is the departure of a man whose life was a living testimony of service, passion, unwavering faith, and a lesson of the pain of "What ifs ". Nigel was not just present in our lives—he poured himself into the Church, into people, and into every role he played on and off the stage.
As a member of HIYASAlim Theater, he didn’t just act—he embodied the truth of the stories we needed to hear. From playing Cain in Cain and Abel, to Judas and other powerful biblical figures, he stirred hearts and opened eyes, bringing Scripture to life with conviction and depth.
He spent half his life praising God through his talents, not for applause, but for salvation. His passion was clear. His sense of camaraderie is lasting. And for the community of Dapit-Alim, his absence echoes painfully, but his light will never be forgotten.
Like Christ, who broke the bread and shared it freely, may we also learn to give of ourselves—our time, our skill, our hearts—with grace and purpose, and more importantly, be kind.
And may we never grow tired of lifting the youth from the shadows. Too many are being drawn into darkness, lured by empty promises and destructive paths. We, as a community, must stand guard. We must take responsibility. We must bring them back to truth, to life, and to God.
His legacy is etched in the hearts of this generation, joined with every HIYASAlim member who has passed through this life, all bound by a shared calling to serve, perform, and glorify God.
He may be gone, but his memories live on in each of us.
