Today, we commemorate the memorial of St. Tarcisius, a young Christian in Rome who courageously protected the Blessed Sacrament even at the cost of his life. Because of his heroic faith and devotion to the Eucharist, he is honored as the Patron of Altar Servers and First Communicants.

As we celebrate his life and witness, may St. Tarcisius remind us that serving at the altar is a sacred callingโ€”one that requires love, devotion, reverence, and unwavering faith in Christ truly present in the Eucharist.

โ€ŽAs I reflect on today's Gospel, I realized that Peter did not begin to sink because the sea grew deeper; he began to sink because his gaze drifted from the One who called him. The storm never changedโ€”Peter's focus did. Hence, I believe the greatest battles in life are not always the ones around us, but the ones within us.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽAs an altar server, this Gospel challenged me to ask myself: Where is my focus? There are moments when fear, doubt, and uncertainty become louder than my faith, causing me to forget that Christ has been beside me all along. Perhaps faith is not about having a life without storms, but about refusing to let the storm become greater than the Savior.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽToday's Gospel reminded me that God never stopped reaching out to Peter, even while he was sinking. And maybe that's the same reminder I needed: Christ's hand never withdrawsโ€”only my eyes do.

โ€ŽThere are moments when I feel tired, confused, or disappointed, and I ask myself, โ€œNasaan ka na ba kasi Lord?โ€

โ€ŽWhile listening to the homily, I realized that maybe I have been looking for God in the wrong places. Sometimes, I expect Him to give me an obvious sign or immediately answer my prayers.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽBut I learned that God does not always work in ways that I can easily see or understand.
โ€ŽHe can be present in simple thingsโ€”a person who comforts me, a friend who stays, a family member who supports me, or even the strength I suddenly find when I feel like giving up.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThese things may seem ordinary, but they can also be ways through which God reminds me that He is there.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe homily also reminded me that God's silence does not mean His absence. There are times when I pray and do not immediately get the answer I want. Before, I might think that God was not listening.

โ€ŽBut now, I understand that sometimes I simply need to trust His timing.
โ€ŽI realized that instead of always asking, โ€œNasaan kaya si Godโ€, I should also ask myself, โ€œNa n-notice ko ba si God?โ€
