Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:14
Every year, we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ because our faith stands on this truth. Without believing in His resurrection, we cannot fully believe in Him (1 Corinthians 15:14).
The resurrection of Christ is the fulfillment of God’s prophecy (Psalms 16:10; Acts 2:27; 1 Corinthians 15:20). It is not just a story, but a truth proven by eyewitnesses. Jesus was seen by many, including more than 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:5–8). This shows that His resurrection was real and not just an imagination.
The disciples even faced persecution and death because of their faith. This shows that the eyewitnesses were willing to stand for the truth.
Changed lives are also proof of the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:9–11). Paul, once a persecutor of Christians, encountered God on the road to Damascus. From a persecutor, he became a preacher of the Gospel and a missionary to the Gentiles. Because of this, God’s Word reached us today. You and I are also evidence of Christ’s resurrection because we are living testimonies of changed lives. Big or small, sin is still sin, yet God forgives us, uses us for His glory, and allows us to serve in His ministry because He is able.
3 Truths About the Resurrection of Jesus Christ
I. The resurrection proves the power of God
(1 Corinthians 15:55)
Our God is faithful. The resurrection shows God’s power to change the life of sinners like us. Christ’s resurrection proves that He conquered even death. He is the Creator of life and the powerful God who gives life. Christ is victorious, and so are those who know Him.
II. The resurrection proves that He is God
(Matthew 28:6)
Jesus is not just a teacher, but the Messiah who saved us from our sins. Only His tomb was empty because He is alive. He died, was buried, and rose again. Baptism reflects this truth—death, burial, and resurrection—showing our obedience and our new life in Christ (Romans 6:4). If He is our Lord, we must trust Him and surrender our lives to Him as we follow His Great Commission.
III. The resurrection proves the promise of our future
(John 11:25)
Because He lives, all fears are gone and we can face tomorrow. He is the life, and because He lives, we have eternal life. Without God, we are nothing. If we have faith in Him, we receive the eternal life He promised.
1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us that serving God is a small thing compared to what Christ did on the cross. He is faithful to His promises. Our life is never wasted when it is lived for Christ.
As Christ has risen, will you live your life for Him?
