GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY & SUMMER YOUTH CATECHISTS’ SENDOFF | Yesterday, on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, April 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM, the faithful gathered in celebration of the Good Shepherd Sunday and Sending Off of the Summer Volunteer Youth Catechists at the San Pedro Calungsod Parish. The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ruel G. Marigomen.

In his homily, Fr. Ruel speaks of God as the Good Shepherd. He reminds us that the Lord is always before us, beside us, and behind us. God goes before us to guide our steps. He walks beside us to accompany and protect us. And when we feel too weak to continue, He is behind us, gently urging us forward. In this way, the Lord truly embodies the role of the Good Shepherd—one who leads, guards, and sustains His flock with unfailing love.

Following the Homily, Fr. Ruel offered a prayer and blessing for the Summer Volunteer Youth Catechists as they set off for the Chapel Catechesis. As we near the celebration of the Flores de Mayo, may this Good Shepherd Sunday remind as of God's guidance and protection as the church ministries and community prepare for the festal activities.

INSTALLATION OF CHOIRS | On this Good Shepherd Sunday, the San Pedro Calungsod Parish joyfully installed new choir groups and new members of the Tri-C Choir. These new choir members offer their endowed ability to sing the songs of worship to God with grace.

Rev. Fr. Ruel G. Marigomen, our parish priest, led the sacred installation rites for the choir members of the Voices of Faith, SPC de Cantabaco and Tri-C Choir during the 6:00 A.M. Holy Mass on April 26, 2026 at San Pedro Calungsod Parish, Cantabaco, Toledo City.

We wish to convey our congratulations to the newly installed choir members and may the Lord God yield its guiding grace that He shall guide us to a path of faith as we all serve the Lord with gratitude in our hearts.

FIESTA MASS | On this blessed day, April 25,2026, the faithful gathered at Sibagay 1 for the celebration of the Holy Mass in honor of Saint Vicente Ferrer, bringing the community together in prayer, thanksgiving, and joyful celebration of their fiesta. The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ruel G. Marigomen.

In his homily, Fr. Ruel reminded the faithful that the Holy Mass is not owned by man, but by God, given to us so we may thank and glorify Him. Therefore, it must be treated with reverence, respect, and honor. He emphasized that the true center of every fiesta is the Holy Mass, and that any celebration without it loses its true meaning.

He also reminded the faithful that while celebrations are allowed, we should not forget their true purpose, to honor God and our patron saint, Saint Vicente Ferrer. Everyone was encouraged to always put God first and choose what is right over temporary pleasures.

Indeed, as the community of Sibagay 1 celebrates their fiesta, may they continue to follow the example of San Vicente Ferrer, standing firm in truth, faith, and devotion to the Lord.

SUMMER YOUTH VOLUNTEER CATECHISTS’ SEMINAR | The San Pedro Calungsod Parish successfully conducted its Summer Youth Volunteer Catechists’ Seminar on April 24–25, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming Flores de Mayo in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The two-day formation began yesterday, April 24, and gathered Chapel Youth Volunteers who actively participated in prayers, talks, and workshops centered on their mission as catechists. Topics such as Tahas, Methodology, Christology, The Suga and Marian devotion helped equip the youth in sharing and teaching the faith.

The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates, preparing them for their role in the ministry. Following the seminar, a Send-Off mass will be held tomorrow, April 26, 2026 at 6 A. M.

Indeed, this meaningful initiative strengthened the commitment of the youth to serve the Church and honor the Blessed Mother through active faith and devotion, just like our patron Saint, San Pedro Calungsod.

SUMMER YOUTH VOLUNTEER CATECHISTS’ SEMINAR | The San Pedro Calungsod Parish will have its Summer Youth Volunteer Catechists’ Seminar in preparation for Flores de Mayo 2026, celebrated during the month of May in honor of the Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary. This will be participated by the Chapel Youth Volunteers for two days, starting tomorrow, April 24, 2026 to April 25, 2026 with the registration beginning at 7:30 A.M.

This program is also inspired by our parish patron saint, San Pedro Calungsod, who faithfully served the Church as a young catechist, offering his life for the greater glory of God. Through this meaningful parish activity, the youth are called to share their faith while honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary through active service and devotion.

Rommel Torrico, arrived at the main office and workshop of VitreArtus Liturgical Arts at the City of San Pedro, Laguna. They personally met with the VitreArtus Project Team, headed by Engr. Robert M. Cruz, to check on the latest updates and developments of our Parish Retablo Project.

This visit reflects our parish’s continued commitment to ensuring the quality, steady progress, and thoughtful planning of this important undertaking for our church.

THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER | Today, April 19, 2026, the faithful gathered in solemn celebration of the Third Sunday of Easter through a Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Ruel G. Marigomen.

In his homily, Fr. Ruel reflects on the biblical story where the disciples failed to recognize the risen Christ. He first reminds us that because the disciples were fixated on the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross, they could not see that He had already triumphed over death. From this, we are taught that rather than dwelling on situations beyond our control, we must learn to lift our gaze toward the light, focusing fully on God. Second, Fr. Ruel encourages us that even when we ourselves are weighed down by despair, we are still called to remain kind, compassionate, and present to others.
Finally, he proclaims that blessed are we, the faithful, who come before God in the Holy Mass, offering ourselves in worship and thanksgiving.

As we continue the celebration of Christ's Resurrection, may the community continue to gather in peace and remembrance of God's presence that is always with us.
