WHEN I FEEL FAR FROM GOD 🤍

Have you ever had a moment when you felt so close to God, like His presence was so real and then, suddenly, you felt distant?

I have. And for a while, I wondered, “What happened? Did I do something wrong? Did God move away from me?”
But I began to understand something important:
My feelings of closeness to God can change, but God Himself does not change.

Psalm 42:5 says:
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God…”

I love how the psalmist speaks to his own soul. He doesn't allow his emotions to have the final word. He reminds himself of what is true.
Sometimes we do the opposite.

When we feel close to God, we think, “I'm doing well.”
When we feel distant, we think, “Something must be wrong with me.” But our feelings are not the foundation of our identity.

God's nearness is based on His promise, not our emotions.

He says:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
-Hebrews 13:5

So when you don't feel God's presence, don't immediately believe that He has left you.

Return to the truth.

Tell your soul:

God is still with me.
I am still loved.
I am still His.
He has not left me.
His promise is greater than my feelings.

Your emotions may go up and down.
But God's faithfulness remains steady.
So don't chase a feeling.
Anchor yourself in His truth. 🤍🤍🤍

🔥 DISCERN THE VOICE OF PAIN,
RECOGNIZE THE TRUE ENEMY 🔥

Sometimes our pain speaks louder than our faith.

It says:

❌ “Make them feel what they made you feel.”
❌ “Don’t forgive.”
❌ “Get even.”
❌ “They hurt you, so hurt them back.”

But CHILD OF GOD, be careful what voice you listen to.
📖 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…”
- Ephesians 6:12

The person who hurt you may be responsible for the wound, but they are not your true enemy.
The enemy wants to use your pain to produce bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness, and revenge.

But Jesus calls us higher:

❤️ “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
-Matthew 5:44
(just pray intentionally for them and you will see)

The flesh says: “GET EVEN.”
The Spirit says: “FORGIVE.”
The flesh says: “MAKE THEM HURT.”
Jesus says: “PRAY FOR THEM.”

And remember:

*Forgiveness does NOT mean what they did was okay.
*Forgiveness does NOT mean you must trust them again.
*Forgiveness does NOT mean you cannot have boundaries.

Forgiveness means:

“I refuse to allow what happened to control my heart.”

📖 “Do not take revenge… ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
-Romans 12:19

Give the vengeance to God.
Give the justice to God.
Give your heart to Christ.

Because the enemy may not be able to destroy you through the person who hurt you, so he will try to destroy you through the bitterness you carry because of what they did.

🔥 DON’T LET YOUR PAIN BECOME YOUR POISON.

When pain says, “Make them feel what you felt,”
Remember the Cross.
When pain says, “Don’t forgive,”
Remember how Christ forgave you.
When pain says, “Get even,"
Remember:

📖 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
- Romans 12:21

DISCERN THE VOICE.
RECOGNIZE THE TRUE ENEMY.
GUARD YOUR HEART.
FORGIVE.
SET HEALTHY BOUNDARIES.
AND REFUSE TO BECOME WHAT WOUNDED YOU.

🙏 Your pain does not have to become your identity.

🔥 CHOOSE CHRIST OVER REVENGE.
🔥 CHOOSE FORGIVENESS OVER BITTERNESS.
🔥 CHOOSE HEALING OVER HATRED.

Bear with each other and forgive one another... Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:13🙌😇

This verse reminds us that none of us has arrived yet. We're all a work in progress, continually growing, learning, and being transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Today, take a moment to examine your heart. Is it becoming more loving, patient, and forgiving? Or has it become wounded, bitter, or hardened?

Forgiving someone who has hurt you isn't easy. But don't allow unforgiveness to take root. Scripture warns us not to give the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). When we hold on to bitterness, it affects not only our relationship with others but also our walk with God and our effectiveness in serving His Kingdom.
As we've freely received God's grace and forgiveness, may we choose to extend that same grace to others.

I pray for healing, reconciliation, and restoration in every broken relationship. May God's love soften our hearts and lead us to forgive as Christ has forgiven us.

🌿 ❤️Heart Check Challenge:

Today, ask God to search your heart.

1. Is there someone you need to forgive?
2. Is there a relationship that needs reconciliation?
3. Is there bitterness you're still carrying?

Pray for that person by name, even if it's difficult. If it's wise and appropriate, take one step toward peace, whether it's offering forgiveness, asking for forgiveness, or releasing the hurt to God.

Remember:
Forgiveness doesn't always mean trust is instantly restored or that what happened was acceptable. It means choosing to release the debt to God and refusing to let bitterness rule your heart.

Challenge Verse:
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32😇❤️🙌

There is no greater joy than seeing young hearts worship the Lord.

As parents, guardians, and a church family, let us continue to lead our children to Christ and teach them that He is above all things.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." – Proverbs 22:6

We warmly invite all parents to bring your children and worship with us every Sunday. Together, let us raise a generation that knows, loves, and serves the Lord.
