For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. - 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus, who was completely sinless and pure, took upon Himself the burden of sin—not His own, but ours. He became the substitute, bearing the punishment and consequences that rightfully belonged to humanity.

Christ carried our guilt so that in Him we could be clothed with God’s righteousness. This is not a righteousness we earn through works or merit, but one given to us by grace through faith in Jesus.

This means that in God’s eyes, who you truly are inside matters far more than how you look or how the world perceives you. It’s an encouragement to focus on cultivating a heart that pleases Him rather than chasing after outward approval.

This beautiful passage reminds us that God's worthiness to be praised spans the entire day — from sunrise to sunset. It invites us to live in constant awareness of His presence and to honor Him continually, no matter the time or circumstances. His goodness and greatness deserve unending praise.
