Life can often feel overwhelming, and our daily routines can leave us feeling weary and tired. But no matter how heavy your burdens get, our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always there, ready to give us rest.

Thomas S. Monson taught that inside this sacred sanctuary, "there is rest for our souls and a respite from the cares of our lives," bringing a transcendent peace that can quiet any troubled heart.

Hi, everyone!

I am SisterGencianeo, and I have been called to serve as a missionary for **The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines Tacloban Mission!

For a long time, I thought I wasn't capable of representing Jesus Christ as a missionary. I know I am not perfect, and I still have many weaknesses. But I am grateful that I chose to serve because I know that Heavenly Father does not need a perfect missionary. He needs someone who is willing to learn, trust Him, and serve Him with all their heart, might, mind, and strength.

The reason I decided to serve is because I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us so much, and I want other people to feel that same love.

Before my family became members of the true Church of Jesus Christ, we struggled a lot. Our home was filled with different kinds of trials, hurt, and mistakes. But because of two faithful missionaries who continually visited our family, and because of my Lola Kit, we accepted the restored gospel and became members of the Church. Their love and testimony changed the course of our lives forever.

Preparing for a mission has not been easy, especially knowing that I will leave my family and set aside the opportunity to continue my schooling for 18 months. At the same time, my heart is filled with joy because I have the opportunity to help others and share the gospel of Jesus Christ the same gospel that changed my family's life.

I want to share my testimony that Jesus Christ lives. He is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the lost gospel of Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I am grateful that we have a living prophet today who continues to receive revelation to guide us and help us become better disciples of Jesus Christ through his counsel, especially during General Conference.

I know that missionary work is one of the greatest works on earth because it helps gather Israel and invites God's children to come unto Jesus Christ.

I am beyond happy and excited to meet the wonderful people in the Philippines Tacloban Mission. I know that my call is not a coincidence. Heavenly Father knows exactly where He needs me to be, and I trust His plan completely. Although I don't know everything that lies ahead, I know that as I rely on Him, He will strengthen me, guide me, and help me become the missionary He needs me to be.

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for His infinite love, mercy, and Atonement. I know this Church is true, and I am excited to dedicate the next 18 months of my life to inviting others to come unto Christ.

CALLED TO SERVE 🇵🇭

When I was just a little child, there was one dream that lived deep in my heart to one day serve the Lord as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I would listen to the missionaries share their stories, hear testimonies in sacrament meeting, and feel something inside me stir. I didn’t understand everything back then, but I knew this was what the Lord wanted me to do with my life. That little dream stayed with me, quiet but steady, as I grew up.

But as I entered junior high and then high school, things felt different. I began to feel lost. I wondered if I was good enough, if I was ready, or if I should just focus on finishing school first instead. There were days I questioned myself torn between my childhood dream and the uncertainty of what lay ahead. I had to make a choice, and it wasn’t always easy. Yet through it all, as I prayed and read the scriptures, the Lord reminded me that this wasn’t just my idea it was His plan for me. He had placed this desire in my heart, and He would help me every step of the way.

And now, by His amazing grace, I am here. The young person who once doubted and wondered is now preparing to serve a full-time mission. Looking back, I know it wasn’t because I was strong enough on my own. It is because God is faithful. He walked with me through every moment of doubt, strengthened me when I felt weak, and made a way when it felt like there was no path forward. As it says in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Why do I truly want to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

It is because I know this gospel changes lives. I have felt the peace of the Savior’s love, and I want others to feel it too. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that He loves each one of us, and that His gospel is restored in its fullness today. There is nothing more important than helping others come to know Him and understand who they really are—children of a loving Heavenly Father.

This mission isn’t just something I’m doing; it’s something I’ve been preparing for my whole life. It is my way of saying thank you to the Lord for all He has done for me. And to anyone here holding onto a dream that feels too big, or a calling that feels too hard: do not give up. The Lord knows you. He called you. And He will qualify you as you step forward in faith.

What a truly glorious and spiritually uplifting day for the Tigbauan Ward! Today, our hearts are full of gratitude as we celebrate the baptism of Bro Antonio Quimbao.

Standing radiantly in his white clothing, Bro Antonio took a sacred step of faith, embracing a beautiful new beginning in the Savior's light. The Spirit was strongly felt by everyone present, and it was deeply moving to see so many ward members, missionaries, and friends gathered together to surround him with love, fellowship, and unwavering support.
