Our Beloved Bishop Bro. Eddie,

Today, as you celebrate your 80th birthday, we thank God for your life and for the blessing you have been to so many people here in the Philippines and around the world.

We have heard you faithfully preach God’s Word and pray according to His Word, countless times through the years. We have seen your deep desire for people to know Jesus—the One who saves, heals, delivers, restores, and transforms lives.

You have been a spiritual father to us—evangelizing, discipling, and commissioning us to live out the full Gospel of Christ, with a deep dependence on the Holy Spirit. You have taught us not only through your preaching, but through the life you have lived before us.

Our prayer is that God’s faithfulness, which endures to all generations, will continue to be evident in your life and in the generations that follow you. (Psalm 119:90) May you continually experience the faithfulness of the God who keeps His covenant and surrounds you with His steadfast love. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

May you continue to taste and see that the Lord is good, and may He protect, strengthen, and fill you with the peace that only His presence can give. (Psalm 34:8)

We love you, Bro. Eddie. We thank God for you, and we give all glory to our Heavenly Father for what He has done through your life.

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘✨️

God is the standard of goodness. His goodness freely overflows because it is His character—it is who He is.

God’s goodness is both unconditional and intentional.

We don’t need to be good to earn His goodness. We don’t lose it even when we commit sin. He remains good no matter what we do.

His goodness is also intentional. He does not only plan for our own good, but He also extends His time and effort to reach the lost, just as Jesus did when He fed the five thousand. Jesus saw their needs and responded to them.

Furthermore, God’s goodness really matters in our present time. It becomes an anchor for every believer because it gives us hope that no matter how chaotic our situation may be, we can overcome because we have a good God who loves and cares for us.

But knowing that God’s goodness has been freely given to us, what are we going to do with it? What should be our response to His goodness?

Ultimately, God’s goodness leads us to repentance. His goodness does not give us an excuse to keep sinning; rather, it is an invitation for us to change.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says:
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — NIV

So, let us be a changed people of God. Let us not remain who we used to be.

If we used to care less about the needs of others, now the Word of God challenges us to extend goodness to others, just as our Lord Jesus did when He reached out to the lost.

Feeling pity for others is not enough. Goodness requires action. It means doing what is right, pure, and true.

So, let us check our hearts.

Let us ask ourselves:

What kind of servant of God am I?

Is everything I do enough as a response to God’s goodness?

Can I do more in serving God?

Am I reflecting God’s goodness to others?
