✨ STEERING FAITH✨
Marcos 4:35–41
Jesus “Bakit kayo natatakot?
- The scariest part is not the Storm, but it's the lack of trust and faith in the Lord.
We pray
We believe
We say we trust God
* BUT deep inside we still want to control everything, we try to control the timing, the outcome, the people, the process.
- We say "Lord this is my plan, ikaw na bahala" then
- We panic when things don't go the way we want.
- We overthink when prayers are delayed.
We keep trying to steel on what God already promised to carry.
1.Seek God First
2.Trust in God's perfect plan and timing
3.Remember that Jesus is with you
PREACHER: Ptr. Arturo Estrada
TOPIC : Joshua Generation
THEME :Crossing The Jordan River (to be in the promised land)
FOCUS : Faith that steps into the imposible
KEY MESSAGE - God moves when His people step first
- A miles away walk, Always start in a single step
- First step is very crucial
1. We need a right decision
2. We need a clear direction
3. We need to do it right
CONTENT: Crossing this present life ( to be in the promised of eternal life )
CONTENT TEXT: Joshua 3: 1-5 RSV
1 And Joshua rose early in the morning. And he and all the children of Israel set out from Sh*ttim and came to the Jordan, and stayed there before they crossed over.
2 And this occurred after three days: the officers went through the camp,
3 and commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites carrying it, then you must set out from your place, and go after it.
4 Yet there must be a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and it. Do not go near it. This is so that you may know the way you should go; for you have not come this way before this”.
5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you”.
- In parallel with Joshua Generation today
1. We need Instruction from our Lord Jesus Christ(v.3)
3 and commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites carrying it, then you must set out from your place, and go after it.
a.- The officers gave instructions to the Israelites
: The ark symbolized the presence of God with His people
: It contained a copy of the Law
b- meaning it contained instructions and commandments
- Carrying it before the people signified God’s guidance and their readiness to follow Him and to accept His standards.
- During our times we should keep the law and the instructions of our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 8:31
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed,
- His words is what the ark contained
- If we continue living inline with His word , we are His true followers
- He will supply our Needs even our wants that online with His word
John 15:7
7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you will ask what you want. and it will be done for you.
- Jesus is the only one
That we're going to listen
Mat.17:5
5 While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them in shadow, and then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him”.
Heb.1:1-2
1 God, who in time past, at various times and in diverse ways spoke to the fathers by the prophets, 2 in these last days has spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, and by whom also he made the worlds.
* We do really need Gods instructions and its only through our Lord and SaviorJesus Christ
John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.
2. We need to be disciplined (v.4)
4 Yet there must be a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and it. Do not go near it. This is so that you may know the way you should go; for you have not come this way before this”.
- They were to show their respect to the Holy things of God
- We must never treat the things of God and his Word lightly
- To do so is a very serious matter
- We need to be disciplined if we want to go deeper in serving the Lord
- We will experience to go even to the place that we did not come before
- We will experience elevation
* If we Fear the Lord
Ps.34:11-14
11 Come, you children,
listen to me.
I will teach you the fear
of the LORD.
12 What man is there who
desires life,
and loves to have many days,
so that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking
deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it.
- The way to wisdom is to fear the Lord
Job 28 28
28 And to man he said, ‘See, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding’”.
Prov.1:7
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning
of knowledge, but fools
despise wisdom and instruction.
Heb.12:28
28 Since, therefore, we are receiving a kingdomwhich cannot be shaken, let us have grace so that we can serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear
- Be a disciple of Christ , a true follower and a true Christian today
- Disciples means Disciplined by Christ
- Because He is the power and the Wisdom to the called
1 Corinthians 1:24
KJV
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
ADB
3. We need sunctification
5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you”.
TCB
1. “Sanctify yourselves”
– people who want to follow the Lord need to be clean,
- Separated from all that might defile them, fully dedicated to Him.
- Even in the time of our Lord Jesus Christ
- When our Lord Jesus Christ begun to preach
- He preach repentance
Mat.4:17
TCB
Matthew 4:17 KJV
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- Apostle Paul teach how to present ourselves to God
Romans 12:1-2 KJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV
1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- The Lord works wonders among those who fully consecrate themselves to Him.
- The word “holy” comes from a Hebrew word which means separated or set apart.
- When referring to God the word means separate from all evil, all sin, all impurity.
- Even Peter
1 Peter 1:15-16
KJV
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
- The whole Bible is the story of how such a holy God devised the way whereby sinful men could be forgiven, purged of their sin, made holy and brought into His gloriously holy presence. Men are holy when God has separated them from others and set them apart for Himself
- Mag pakalinis tayo
- Mamuhay tayo ng may kabanalan
- Hanggang sa pagdating ng Panginoon
1 Timothy 6:14
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ
- Ang Pagpapakabanal ay hindi lang tuwing Holy week, Its an everyday walk with the Lord
- TO GOD BE THE HIGHEST GLORY AND PRAISE!
