A Vision Prayer for the New Year: 2026
"Lord God,

You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. You hold time in Your hands, and we thank You for the gift of a fresh start. As the sun sets on 2025 and we look toward the horizon of 2026, we ask for more than just a new calendar—we ask for a new vision.

Give us eyes to see our community as You see it. Open our hearts to the neighbors we haven't met, the brokenness we’ve overlooked, and the opportunities to be Your hands and feet. May our church not just be a building on a street, but a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.

Give us ears to hear Your direction. In a world full of noise and distractions, tune our hearts to the frequency of Your Spirit. Let Your Word be the final authority in our decisions, our families, and our ministries. Lord, if You are not going before us, we do not want to go; but if You lead, give us the courage to follow without hesitation.

Give us hands to serve with renewed energy. We pray for the vision of our church leaders, our volunteers, and our families. Reclaim the areas where we have grown weary and breathe new life into our mission. May 2026 be a year where we grow not just in numbers, but in depth, in grace, and in love for one another.

We surrender our plans, our goals, and our resolutions to You. Establish the work of our hands and let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this congregation as it is in heaven.

We step into 2026 not with spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

In the Name of Jesus, the Light of the World,

Amen."

A Message from the Pastor: Stepping into 2026

"Behold, I am doing a new thing!" — Isaiah 43:19

Dear SLCC Family,

As the clock strikes midnight and we transition from 2025 into 2026, I find myself reflecting on the journey we have shared. This past year has been a testament to God’s faithfulness and your incredible resilience and love. We have laughed together, prayed through trials together, and seen the hand of God move in our midst in ways we never expected.

But as much as we cherish the memories of the past year, I believe the Holy Spirit is calling us to look forward with holy expectation.

A new year is more than just a change of date; it is an invitation. It is an invitation to leave behind the weights that slowed us down in 2025 and to run with renewed endurance the race set before us. My prayer for our congregation in 2026 is that we would be a people of Deep Roots and Wide Reach.

Deep Roots: That we would be anchored more firmly in the Word of God than ever before.

Wide Reach: That our love would spill over the walls of this church and into the streets of our community.

The same God who walked with us through every moment of 2025 is already standing in the future, beckoning us forward. Let’s step into 2026 with confidence, knowing that He who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it.

Happy New Year to you and your families!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Alberto M. Dones
SLCC Senior Pastor
