♥ Daily Meditation February 28, 2023 Ma 14:22-36 ′′ immovable mind ′′
There is a saying to row when the tide comes.
Jesus is very popular with people.
People would have cheered at the miracle of five loaves and two fishes.
The sick are being healed by Jesus.
People would have expected abundance by taking Jesus as their king (John 6:15).
But Jesus hastens to separate his disciples from the crowd. (22)
Jesus goes up on a mountain alone and prays. (23)
It seems that Jesus recognized this as a crisis rather than an opportunity.
A crisis in which he could forget his mission in the excitement of people's cheers.
A crisis that lowers his intimacy with his father because of cheering people.
I shouldn't be swayed by people's reactions either.
I have to walk the rest of my mission. (J)
“Jesus immediately urged his disciples to get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, while he sent the crowds away” (Matthew 14:22).

♥ Daily Devotion October 26, 2022 2 Samuel 22:1-25 “My God”
David's hymn sung on the Day of Salvation is moving.
'I cried out to the LORD, and the LORD rescued me and led me to a spacious place'. (4-7)
It may seem natural to call and cry out to the Lord in difficult times, but it is not something everyone does.
Those who recognize Jehovah as 'my' God, 'my' rock, 'my'… can do it. (2,3)

It is a time of many difficulties.
This does not mean that more people cry out to Jehovah.
Yet those who profess Jehovah as ‘my’ God cry out to him.
They, like David, will sing the hymn of salvation.
To ‘my’ God! (J)
“In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple his he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears his.” (2 Samuel 22:7)

♥ Daily Devotion October 23, 2022 2 Sam 20:14-25 “break up”
Sheba is dead.
Due to his death, the large crowd who followed Sheba suddenly collapses, and everyone returns home.
Although the role of the leader is important, it is funny that the crowd is scattered like this when he is dead.
Why?
The Bible describes him as a 'troublemaker'.
His qualities as a leader may not have given people credibility.
People gathered to build a nation, but God's will was not there.
And people were not even convinced that this was God's will.
The vision was not shared, and they did not have one heart and one mouth (Romans 15:6).
If a missionary leaves, wouldn't the ministry collapse like this?
It will be important for the remnant to have confidence that this work is God's will.
And when it becomes our vision, not the missionary's vision, the movement will continue even if the missionary leaves.
The troublemaker becomes a teacher for me. (J)
“Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bicri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem.” (2 Samuel 20:22)

♥ Daily Meditation October 20, 2022 2 Samuel 19:1-15 “Domino”
King David was in trouble.
It's not just the grief of losing his son.
Joab, who has returned from subduing the rebellion, rebukes the king, David.
Joab's wrath against David for making the warriors feel sorry for them.
He not only rebukes the king but also threatens him.
If the king does not change his attitude, he says he and all his men will leave the king tonight.
David reluctantly goes out to the gate and sits down.
From David's action to mobilize the elders of Judah and Amasa, I can guess his helplessness and distress.
Why was he like this?
Maybe it's because he's focused on himself?
That seems to have made Joab self-centered.
It may be an unreasonable expectation for a father who lost his son, but what if he had raised his head toward God at that time?
Being ‘me-centered’ can make others return to ‘self-centeredness’ like dominoes.
Lord, help me to keep my angle to you even in difficult times. (J)

♥ Daily Meditation October 19, 2022 2 Sam 18:19-33 “Unstoppable Love”
David weeps at the news that the traitor Absalom is dead. (33)
To David, Absalom was a traitor, but he was also a son.
So he wept bitterly at the news of the death of his son rather than the news that he had overthrew the rebellion.
As a king, he shouldn't be like this, but he was also a father.
God gives me a love that is like the contradiction.
He treats me with pitiful love without considering my life that resembles treason.
So I can't say to David, 'If you're a king, you shouldn't do this!' (J)
“The king’s heart was very sore, and he went upstairs to the door and wept. As he went up, he said, “My son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom, if I had died for you, Absalom, my son, my son” (2 Samuel 18:33). )

Daily Devotion 1 Samuel 17:41-55 “Love and Faith”

“David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1 Samuel 17:45)
David stands boldly before Goliath.
However, in the process of starting the battle, David did not hear anything from God.
Against Goliath for blaspheming the name of the God he loved, he became angry and started a fight.
Neither is God's explicit miraculous power to be found in the fight against Goliath.
David threw a stone into his sling his, and the stone was sank into Goliath's forehead.
David went to Goliath, who have passed out, and cut off his head with his sword.
What did God do in the course of David's battle?
David's fight in the absence of revelations and miracles is surprising.
David's ultimate love for God and absolute faith in God's name
shame me
Even though God's name is being insulted, I am asking, 'God, what do you want to do?'
I'm still hiding, saying, 'God, give me strength!' (J)

Daily Devotion 1 Samuel 16:1-23 “Review”
His father, Jesse, did not even consider David a candidate.
After seeing him, he said that he was ‘red, handsome, and beautiful’, so it was probably not because of his appearance or height.
It must have been because to his father, the youngest was still just a 'child'.
God saw him differently, and Samuel saw him differently.
He was greatly moved by the Spirit of God, and gradually he became a history of the kingdom of God.
Sometimes we don't find value in the people we've always been with.
Another experience is that we have a preconceived notion of the person and misunderstand him.
Let's see our precious people again through God's eyes. (J)
“So he asked Jesse, 'Are these all the sons you have?' 'He said there is still the youngest, "Jesse answered," but he is tending the sheep.' Samuel said, 'Send for him; We will not sit down until he arrives.'” (1 Samuel 16:11)

Daily Devotion 1 Samuel 15:16-35 “The Fatal Moment”
“Jehovah has forsaken you.”
These words were to be heard desperately to Saul.
He had to cry out to God in anguish.
He must have grabbed Samuel and asked him to cry out to God.
But Saul's reaction is plain.
Saying “I have committed a crime” does not take me too seriously.
He makes the excuse that he fears the people and only listens to them.
It is Samuel that he cares about.
‘If Samuel turns away from him, what will the people and the elders think of him?’
This is so important to him that he holds Samuel until his clothes are torn.
How would Samuel feel, going with him as requested?
He must have felt, 'I can't expect any more of this person.'
He never sees Saul again.
with sorrow for him.
God regrets him.
What would have happened if Saul had run to God, even at the cost of the shame of the people at that time?
Exposing my faults and shame is also scary to me.
But let's hold on to the Lord at the critical moment.
Let us fear the Lord. (J)
“I have sinned, but now Saul said, I beg you, exalt me before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God” (1 Samuel 15:30).

♥ Daily Devotion 1 Samuel 15:1-15 “Under a layer of certainty”
Saul's voice when he meets Samuel is cheerful.
"The LORD bless you! I have carried out the LORD's instructions."
He carried out the Lord's command to strike Amalek.
He was victorious, and not all but annihilated.

Saul must have been proud of himself.
He even erected a monument to himself in Carmel.
But God regrets raising Saul.
Samuel is grieved for Saul, and he cries out to the Lord all night.
Samuel removes a layer of Saul's conviction.
He reveals in it his greed, disobedience by greed, the pride of his self-satisfaction, the irresponsibility of blaming the people.
Even Saul himself must have been deceived by himself.
So he would have missed even an opportunity to repent.
I think he looks pitiful.
Lord, have mercy on me! (J)
“When Samuel came to Saul, he said to him, I pray thee, the LORD bless you; I have done the LORD's commandment” (1 Samuel 14:13).

♥ Daily Meditation May 27, 2022 1 Samuel 13:1-23 “Inevitably”
Combat may require soldiers.
But now the soldiers are scattering in fear.
Saul, who leads the battle, is desperate.
Should I wait for Samuel?
Should the battle begin before the soldiers scatter further?
he decides
‘I also offer burnt offerings.’
With God's grace, to go to battle.
As soon as the burnt offering is over, Samuel arrives.
He rebukes Saul for acting in vain.
Declare that God will lead another person after God's own heart.
Combat may require God before soldiers.
'Should I keep God's commands or make a decision appropriate to the situation' is a conflict that always exists for Christian leaders.
So Saul's anguish is easy to understand.
It will be necessary to persevere and obey God's word without excuses by circumstances.
Lord, give me the fear of God! (J)
“I thought, 'Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the LORD's favor.' So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.” (1 Samuel 13:12)

♥ Daily Devotion October 28, 2021 Ex. 39:1-21 “as the LORD commanded Moses”

“They did -as the LORD commanded Moses.” (1,5,7,21)

While this may seem obvious, it is not an easy task.

God told Moses many things.
How did Moses understand the details of the tabernacle and the priest's attire, how did he remember it, how did he make it known to the working people, and how did he make it as it was?

At that time, there were no recorders, cameras, or ballpoint pens.

If you play a message passing game, the beginning and the end are very different.

When God spoke, he must have been very focused on understanding.
He must have repeated it over and over to remember it.
And he must have made a great effort to convey it without change.

Moses must have been relieved and proud of the Bible’s evaluation of ‘as the LORD commanded Moses’.

I have a hard time memorizing Bible verses.
I am fortunate to be able to deliver God's message through my media ministry. (J)

“They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod-as the LORD commanded Moses.” (Ex 38:21)
