Malachi :The Messenger's Wake-Up Call

Today we are diving into the book of Malachi—the final book of the Old Testament. And I want to prepare you: this isn't a typical sermon. It reads much more like a gripping courtroom drama.

The setting is around 450 BCE. The Jewish people have been back in Jerusalem from their exile for a hundred years. The temple is rebuilt, the altar is running, but the initial excitement has completely worn off. Life is hard, the economy is struggling, and the grand prophecies they expected haven't come true. Because of that, the people have fallen into deep spiritual apathy. They haven't turned to stone idols this time; instead, they’ve turned to something just as dangerous: cold, cynical routine.

Throughout this lesson, we are going to look at the six intense debates where God calls out their half-hearted faith, the people push back, and God delivers the truth. As we go through it, we’re going to find that the questions they were asking back then are the exact same questions that trip up our faith today."

Putting God First: Lessons from the Book of Haggai

The Book of Haggai is a powerful message to God’s people about priorities, obedience, spiritual renewal, and rebuilding what has been neglected. Although it is one of the shortest books in the Old Testament, its message is very practical and relevant today.
Haggai challenged the people of Israel to stop focusing only on their personal comfort and begin rebuilding the House of God. Through this book, we learn that spiritual complacency leads to emptiness, but obedience to God brings blessing, purpose, and renewal.

Many Christians desire victory, yet many live defeated by fear, sin, discouragement, temptation, and spiritual weakness. The good news is that God never intended for believers to live powerless lives. Through Jesus Christ, we are given strength, authority, and the power to overcome. The victorious Christian life is not a perfect life, but a life that continually depends on Christ, walks in obedience, and triumphs through faith. In this lesson, we will discover how believers can experience daily victory through God’s presence, Word, Spirit, and promises.

NAHUM: God is Just — He Judges Evil and Protects His People

The Book of Nahum is a powerful message about God’s justice and faithfulness. Written as a prophecy against the city of Nineveh, it reveals that although God is patient, He will not allow evil to go unpunished forever. At the same time, Nahum reminds God’s people that He is good, a refuge in times of trouble, and faithful to protect those who trust in Him. This book assures us that no matter how strong wickedness may seem, God is still in control and His justice will ultimately prevail.

OBADIAH: "God Opposes Pride and Defends His People"

The Book of Obadiah may be the shortest book in the Old Testament, but its message is powerful and deeply relevant for us today. It speaks about pride, injustice, and how God responds when people turn against one another—especially those who are supposed to be “family.”

Through the story of Edom and Israel, descendants of Esau and Jacob, we see a warning against pride and a call to humility, compassion, and accountability before God.

As leaders, this lesson challenges us to examine our hearts, how we treat others, and how we live in light of God’s justice and His coming kingdom.
