Reflection on Job 26:7
“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
He suspends the earth over nothing.”

Job speaks these words while contemplating the sheer scale of God’s power. Long before humanity understood gravity, orbit, or the structure of the cosmos, Scripture already declared a truth that science would only later confirm: the earth hangs in the void, upheld by nothing visible — sustained solely by the command of God.

This verse is more than a scientific curiosity. It is a revelation of God’s absolute sovereignty and the delicate intentionality of creation. The universe is not held together by chance or chaos. It is upheld by a Person — One who orders the skies, sets boundaries for the seas, and holds the earth in place with effortless authority.

And if God can suspend the earth over nothing,
He can hold you in every season of uncertainty.
If He can stretch out the heavens,
He can stretch out His hand to steady your life.
If He governs the cosmos with precision,
He can govern your steps with wisdom.

Job 26:7 reminds us:
The God who holds the universe together
is the same God who holds His people close.

Theme: Leaving Childish Things Behind

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child:
but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
(1 Corinthians 13:11)

The Lord calls His people to grow —
to leave behind the ways of immaturity
and to stand in the full measure of His calling.

Childishness is not about age;
it is about spiritual posture —
speaking without discernment, acting without depth,
and living without responsibility before God.

But the Spirit is calling us higher.
He is shaping a Church that can stand,
that can serve,
and that can carry His purpose with maturity and grace.

Let us put away the things that belong to yesterday,
and walk in the strength of His calling —
able to do what He requires,
and ready to reflect His character in all things.
