Title: Fruit of Temperance
Preacher: Pastor Eli Chano

Galatians 5:22-23
²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
²³Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:19-23
◦ TEMPERANCE - SELF CONTROL
◦ SELF CONTROL - SELF MASTERY
◦ SELF CONTROL - CHRIST CONTROL
Most of the problems we face in life if lack of Temperance/Slef Control.
James 1:14 - Root of all sins is Selfishness
Proverbs 25:28 - Build hedges/fences/boundaries
Self control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, You can have it by yielding to God

LIFE WITHOUT SELF CONTROL
1. SENSUAL - Fleshy; Driven by Physical Desires
2. IDOLATRY (sorcery) - Whichcraft; Literal idol worship
3. BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS

HOW DO WE GAIN SELF CONTROL
1. STRONG DECISIONS
- we gain self control by deciding before the temptetation
how we will respond
- "Discipline is deciding ahead of time"
2. REALIZATION
- realize that were vulnerable to sin
- pride goeth before destruction/fall
- pride is the friend of sinners because it will expose us to temptation
3. PROTECTION/TRANSFORMATION
- guard/protect your mind

Conclusion
Good fruits come from good roots

Title: Game People Play
Preacher: Pastor Moore Montez
April 26, 2026

Luke 2:41-52
Unang laro ng Tagu-taguan ay nangyari sa Garden of Eden.

We still play this game, not as a game that children play but realistically and spiritually.
- Rom.3:11-12 "...there is none that seeketh after God.

(by our sinful nature we are allergic to God) 12 They are all gone out of the way..." (our natural tendency is to go as far away from God!)

"It is a joy to be hidden, and disaster not to be found."
- D.W. Winnicott

A joy of hidden, and the disaster of being found—Ang kaligtasan na nangyayari sa tao.

Revival are for genuine Believers in need of a fresh touch from God, and for a clearer focus of God's will in life!

Revival is needed for believers to have a sincere repentance from sin, a restored joy in salvation, and a renewed love for Christ and His church!

PRESUMPTION IS DEADLY!
2Pet. 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

PROLONGED NEGLECT ENDS IN DISASTER!
Heb. 2:1 "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."

REPENTANCE IS THE 1ST STEP OF RECOVERY!
Psa 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

3 Points - Luke 2:41-52

1. The Force of Routine - Luke 2:41-45
A. "Every year at the feast of the Passover..."
Familiarity
Refuse being an expert — always maintain that childlike wonder of God.

B. "Fulfilled the days..."
Tradition
Reflect always: Have my heart been touched by the Holy Spirit today? The letter kills, the spirit gives life!.

C. "They supposing to have been in the company..."
Presumption
Repentance is not when you cry, it is when you make a definite U-turn in life.
2. The Formula for Recovery - Luke 2:46-50
A. God wants your Undivided Attention! (vs.46-48)
Jesus became the center of attention, even the "experts" listened to Him! This is the way it should be in worship and in our lives!
"That in all things he might have the preeminence." (Col.1:18)

B. God wants your Unfiltered Affection! (ν. 48)
They sought Jesus "sorrowing". Sorrow made them serious in their search. Sorrow led them to the temple. They found Him there!
Eccl. 7:2-3 "Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better."

Psa 51:16-17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."

C. God wants your Unquestioning Admission (vs.49-50)
Jesus answered Mary's question. But Mary could not fully comprehend what Jesus meant! Our devotion to Him should not b conditional.
"O God, give us the serenity to accept what cannot be changed, the courage to change what can be changed, and the wisdom to how the one from the other."

3. The Format of Revival - Luke 2:51-52
A. "Subject unto them..."
The Lord Jesus though God chose to or willingly placed himself under the authority of his earthly parents. He deliberately set aside PRIDE.

B. "kept these sayings in her heart..."
Mary though unable to process the words that Jesus said---she kept them in her heart. PROV. 4:23, PSA.119:11

C. "Jesus increased...in favour with God and man."
Progress were evident as Jesus grew! Where there is life, there is growth!

Conclusion
Think... What is your life situation now?
Is it showing Progress or Regress.
