โ€œSpiritual darkness is not a power, but simply the absence of God's light. Without Him, we are spiritually blind, unable to distinguish right from wrong or find the path to holiness. But when we welcome Christ's divine light, the darkness vanishes, and we can walk confidently in His truth. Even the smallest spark of grace is like a candle in a dark roomโ€”enough to start finding our way back to God.

Today's Gospel from John 3:16 reminds us: โ€œGod so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.โ€

Jesus spoke these words to Nicodemus, who came to Him at night, searching. Guided by a flicker of faith, he sought greater light. Jesus reassured him: โ€œFor God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.โ€

Christ's mission is to save us, flooding our souls with the light of truth. Like with Nicodemus, Jesus sees every flicker of faith in us. He wants to fan that spark into radiant light, illuminating our path to Him.

Living the Message of Mercy

Putting mercy into action is not an option of the Divine Mercy message and devotion; it's a requirement!

Like the gospel command, "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful," this demand that we show mercy to our neighbors "always and everywhere" seems impossible to fulfill. But the Lord assures us that it is possible.

When a soul approaches Me with trust, He explains, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls (1074).

โ€œThe Easter Vigil, is not just another Massโ€”it is the Mass of all Masses. It is the culmination of the Triduum and the very moment we pass from darkness into light, from death into life, from sorrow into the joy of the Resurrection.

This sacred liturgy is rich in meaning and is divided into four parts:

(1) the Service of Light, where the Paschal Candle is lit in the darkness;
(2) the Liturgy of the Word, recounting Godโ€™s saving acts throughout history;
(3) the Liturgy of Baptism, where new members are welcomed into the Church; and
(4) the Liturgy of the Eucharist, where we finally celebrate the Risen Lord.

During the Vigil, we are called to be like the faithful servants in Luke 12:35ffโ€”awake, ready, and waiting, with our lamps burning for the Lordโ€™s return.
The Easter Vigil is the holiest night of the year. It is where silence is broken by Alleluia, where darkness is overcome by light, and where hope is reborn in every believing heart.โ€
