📖 WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved…”
— Mark 16:15–16 NKJV
“Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
- Luke 24:46-47 NKJV
Jesus commanded us to preach the Gospel. But what exactly is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. ✝️
📖 “Christ died for our sins… He was buried, and… He rose again the third day.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
But the Gospel is not only a message to believe—it is a message to obey.
We obey the Gospel by identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ:
🔹 DEATH — We die to sin through REPENTANCE
🔹 BURIAL — We are buried with Christ through BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST
🔹 RESURRECTION — We rise to walk in newness of life through the HOLY GHOST
📖 Romans 6:1–4
“How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
This is why, when the people heard the Gospel and asked, “What shall we do?”, Peter answered:
📖 “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
— Acts 2:38 NKJV
The Gospel is not merely something we hear.
It is not merely something we believe.
The Gospel is something we believe, obey, and live.
✝️ Have you obeyed the Gospel?
