Student life can be overwhelming.

Deadlines, exams, family expectations, financial pressures, questions about the future. It's no surprise that many students today struggle with stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.

Discipleship doesn't remove all those burdens, but it reminds us that no one has to carry them alone.

As followers of Christ, we get to walk alongside one another, listen, encourage, pray, worship together, speak truth in love, and help carry each other's burdens.

Cos sometimes, the most powerful ministry is simply being present.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." ~ Galatians 6:2

From last night's Zoom DGroup session with our whole DGroup family, where we also discussed practical steps and specific actions for walking alongside our college students, to today's actual implementation in person.

Full plates, full cups, and full hearts. Blessed to share food, fellowship, and accountability with our Uplift Scholars today 💖

Missing Kuya Alvin though 😊

"Victory over souls begins with victory over self.

If you cannot overcome worldly desires, you will struggle to lead others to Christ. Deny the flesh, take up our cross daily, and follow Him."

Leadership is stewardship 💖

Leadership begins with you. But it is never about you. The moment it becomes about you, it stops being leadership and becomes vanity with a budget. Ego is the cancer of every promising leader. The best leaders I know spend less time trying to look great and more time making other people great. The applause fades. The people you developed do not.

There are seasons in life when it's difficult to understand what God is doing. When the road is hard. When prayers seem unanswered. When God allows circumstances that stretch, humble, and refine us.

How do we respond when He is molding us? When He is correcting us? When He is disciplining us out of His love?

The Israelites experienced this during their years of exile. Yet in the midst of their suffering, God gave them a promise through Jeremiah:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

It was not a promise that removed the process. It was a promise that gave purpose to the process.

The waiting had a purpose.
The refining had a purpose.
The discipline had a purpose.

God was not abandoning them. He was preparing them.

The same remains true for us today. We may not always understand what God is doing, but we can trust who He is. His plans are good, His timing is perfect, and His work in our lives is never without purpose.

A powerful reminder from today's preaching.

And during our discipleship session afterward, we took time to examine our hearts, allowing God's Word to search us, correct us, and align us once again with His will.

Jesus said go after the ONE lost sheep. But the father never chased the prodigal son into the far country....

May 1 Evangelistic Mission

The day began in prayer and devotion among the volunteers, setting the heart and direction of the mission. As the participants arrived, they were warmly welcomed and served breakfast, a simple expression of love and care. The program unfolded with worship, an icebreaker that opened hearts, a time in the Word, and breakout sessions that carried the most depth and intention. In these smaller groups, the couples Dgroup intentionally invested time to listen, connect, and minister personally to each participant. The day ended with gift-giving, small tokens reflecting God’s generosity and the love shared throughout the mission.

With grateful hearts, we thank the Lord for the privilege to serve, love and witness what He has done in every life touched that day. May this not end within the walls of the gathering, but overflow into every place we go.

Go and make Jesus Christ known! 👑
