It is not uncommon for us to pass judgment on others—sometimes silently in our minds rather than openly—without truly knowing their hearts or the actual truth about them, basing our opinions instead on their outward appearance or behavior. God’s Word teaches us to ground our judgments in divine truth and to look beyond the surface when viewing others.

In John 7:10–24, after the conversation with His brothers, Jesus went to the festival in secret. Midway through the festival, He preached, astonishing the Jewish leaders; they wondered how Jesus knew what He was teaching despite having never received formal schooling. The Lord Jesus told the Jews that His teachings did not originate with Him but came from God, who had sent Him; His aim was not to draw attention to Himself, but to focus His message on the God who sent Him. Moses had given them the Law, yet none of them truly obeyed it; they would perform tasks on the Sabbath to avoid violating Moses' commands, yet the Lord marveled at their anger when He healed someone on the Sabbath—even though they themselves continued to work on that day.

God’s message through His Word is that in all our declarations, we should not seek our own glory; rather, in everything we do, the Lord alone deserves to be exalted, for He is the One who grants the wisdom to proclaim His will.

This stands in contrast to the Jewish leaders who knew the Law yet—judging by their actions—did not truly understand it. The Lord desires for us to grasp a deeper truth: that reality is not found merely in a person's outward appearance, but within—in how they fulfill God's will. Thus, God calls upon us to judge rightly, looking beyond what is merely visible to the eye.

‭John 7:16, 24 ESV‬
[16] So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
[24] Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

Our identity does not begin with what we do for God. It begins with God Himself.

Pwede kang magbuild ng yaman sa mundo pero ang pangyayari sa paligid natin ay paalala ng Diyos na walang sayo.

Okay lang maging busy. May work, responsibilities, family, at maraming kailangang gawin. Pero kung consistent na tayong walang time kay Lord, baka hindi na schedule ang problema, priorities na.

Jesus said, Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33)

Hindi naman hinihingi ni Lord ang buong araw natin. Pero He deserves to be first in our day, not just the leftover time. Kaya minsan, ask yourself kung busy ba talaga ako, o may ibang bagay lang na mas nauuna sa Diyos?

Because what we prioritize reveals what truly matters to us. WE MAKE TIME TO WHAT IS IMPORTANT.

We’re not reaching the campus if all we want is to build a crowd of “branded” members...but not disciples.

Discipleship is not about making students look like our church, follow our culture, or practice our religion.

Discipleship is helping them become more like JESUS (Romans 8:29).

Jesus didn’t say, “Go and make members.” He said, “Go and make disciples.” — Matthew 28:19

The goal is not just attendance. It’s transformation.
Not just membership. It’s maturity.
Not just belonging to a group. It’s becoming like Christ.

We’re not called to build a campus full of people who look like us. We’re called to help raise a generation that looks like Jesus. That’s real discipleship.
