Day 3 of 6
📖 Luke 10:38–42
In this story, Martha was busy serving while Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, listening to His words. Martha was distracted and worried, but Jesus gently reminded her: “Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
- Busyness can distract us from intimacy with God. Even good things can pull us away from the “one thing” that matters most.
- Sitting at Jesus’ feet means prioritizing His presence over our tasks, worries, and plans.
- Fasting is not just giving up food, but choosing to feed on God’s Word and presence.
As we continue in prayer and fasting, let’s not just “do more” for God—let’s be with Him. His presence is our portion, and His Word is our true nourishment. ❤️
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
Day 4 of 6
📖 Matthew 6:16–18
Jesus reminds us that fasting is not about outward show, but an inward devotion to God. He said, “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do… but when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others… and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” 🙌
- Fasting is for God, not for people. It’s not about proving our spirituality, but drawing closer to Him.
- God looks at the heart. What matters most is sincerity, not appearance.
- There is a promise of reward. When we fast with the right heart, God Himself sees and responds.
As we continue in prayer and fasting, let’s shift our focus from the outward struggle to the inward joy of seeking God. He is our reward!
“Your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” – Matthew 6:18
