FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT

Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we begin this Lenten journey, we come before You with humble hearts.
Lead us into the quiet places where Your voice can be heard above the noise of the world.
Strengthen us to resist temptation, to choose what is right, and to walk in the footsteps of Your Son.
In our fasting, may we hunger for Your Word.
In our prayer, may we draw closer to Your heart.
In our acts of charity, may we reflect Your boundless love.
Lord, renew our spirits, cleanse our hearts, and guide us toward the joy of Easter morning.
We place our trust in You, now and always.
Amen.

O glorious St. Valentine, patron of love and devotion, You who selflessly served God and defended the sacred bond of marriage.
Intercede for us, that we may love as Christ loves-purely, faithfully, and unconditionally. Teach us to cherish and honor those whom God has placed in our lives.
Fill our hearts with compassion, patience, and understanding, That we may reflect the true meaning of love in our words and actions.
St. Valentine, guide those seeking love, strengthen those in relationships, And comfort those who feel lonely or forgotten. May your example inspire us to live with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors, and already many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal. I come, therefore, with the most unbounded confidence, to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of my requests. I will endeavor to imitate your virtues, that I may one day share your glory, and bless you in eternity. Amen.

Prayer

O Señor Santo Niño, You are our king and our god, we worship you, you are our strong Defender, we turn to you; You are the Patron of Cebu and Philippines, we come to you; You have made extraordinary wonders. Through your miraculous Image in these chosen islands, remember us. Look down at this poor soul that comes to You for help. Lead us with your wisdom, discipline us with Your Truth, console us with Your Tenderness, protect us with Your Might.

We consecrate today our thoughts to You, only with You shall they be occupied; our words, only of you shall they speak; our sufferings, that we may endure them for your sake. We beg You, Señor Santo Niño, illumine our understanding, kindle our will, cleanse our body, sanctify our soul. We wish what you wish, because you wish, as you wish, as long as you wish.

Grant us, Señor Santo Niño, that we may feel love toward You, be strict toward ourselves, be zealous toward our fellowmen, and rightly despise the things of the world. Help us to overcome sensuality with strict discipline, avariciousness with generosity, anger with gentleness, indolence with zealous industry. Make us wise in counsel, courageous in danger, patient in adversity, humble in prosperity.

Teach us, dear Santo Niño, how worthless is the world, how sublime is heaven, how brief is time, how long is eternity. Grant us, lastly, that we may remember You, adore You, and serve You here on earth that we may be happy with You forever and ever in Heaven. Amen.

Katamis-tamisang naming mahal na Poong Jesus Nazareno Diyos at Manunubos ko, na naglalakbay sa Kalbaryong pasan-pasan Mo ang Krus na pagpapakuan sa Iyo.

Akong abang makasalanan, na naging dahilan ng Iyong di masayod na hirap ay nagpupuri sa Iyo at nagpapasalamat, na bilang maamong Kordero ay buong hinahong tinanggap Mo sa ibabaw ng Iyong balikat ang kahoy ng Iyong kamatayan upang doon mawakasan ang aking mga kasalanan at ng sandaigdigan.

Patawarin mo ako, O Butihing Jesus; inaamin ko ang aking mga sala at ako’y nananalig na dahil sa kabutihan Mong walang kahulilip ay hugasan Mo ng Iyong Dugo. Iniibig Kita ng higit sa lahat ng bagay, ipinangangako na ako’y magiging matapat hanggang sa oras ng aking kamatayan.
