𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛. 🙏🤍

Recent incidents of violence involving young people in our schools have left many families, students, teachers, and communities grieving and deeply concerned. The recent tragedies in Tacloban and Zamboanga remind us that our young people need not only protection, but also guidance, understanding, formation, and genuine care.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵.

🙏 For those who feel lost, may they find hope.
🙏 For those carrying anger or pain, may they find healing and someone willing to listen.
🙏 For parents and guardians, may God grant them wisdom to guide their children.
🙏 For teachers and school personnel, may God strengthen them as they care for and educate the next generation.
🙏 For our schools and communities, may they become places of safety, friendship, learning, and growth.
🙏 And for those who have lost their lives and those affected by these tragedies, may God grant them eternal rest, healing, and consolation.

Let us also remember that praying must be accompanied by action. May we become more attentive to the young people around us, take their struggles seriously, listen without immediately judging, and speak up when someone may be in danger.

Our youth are not merely the Church of tomorrow. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. Let us walk with them, protect them, listen to them, and lead them toward Christ.

“𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢.” — Matthew 19:14

Lord Jesus, protect our youth. Guide their hearts, heal their wounds, and surround them with people who will lead them toward love, truth, and peace.

Today we rejoice as one parish in celebrating the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May our celebration be filled not only with joy and festivity but also with gratitude for the many blessings we have received through the loving intercession of our Mother.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐒 | Join us as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15, 2026, at 9:30 AM.

We are honored to welcome His Excellency, Most Rev. John F. Du, DD., Archbishop of Palo as the Main Celebrant of the Fiesta Stational Mass, together with the Clergy of the Archdiocese of Palo.

Let us gather as one to offer our thanksgiving to God and honor our beloved Patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 | Third Novena Mass in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, held as part of the 117th Annual Parish Fiesta Celebration, highlighted the Assumption as a reminder of God’s plan for His people and the hope of being united with Him in His Kingdom.

Rev. Fr. Danilo Pongos of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santo Niño, Tacloban City, who presided over the celebration, reflected on the Gospel from Matthew 16:24–28, where Jesus calls His disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him.

Fr. Pongos emphasized that the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary points the faithful toward the promise of eternal life, reminding them that God desires His people to ultimately be together in His presence and Kingdom.

“Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is also a reminder for all of us that this is the plan of God for all that at the end of time all of us will be all together in the presence of the Lord in his kingdom.”

He further explained that this hope requires the faithful to remain obedient and faithful to God, following Christ through the challenges and sacrifices of life. The call to follow Jesus, he stressed, is not merely about professing faith but about living according to God’s will and teachings.

Drawing from the Gospel, Fr. Pongos highlighted the importance of denying oneself and carrying one’s cross. He noted that every person carries different crosses, whether these involve family, financial, personal, or relationship struggles. Rather than abandoning these crosses, the faithful are called to persevere and carry them with the same attitude demonstrated by Christ.

The homily also presented Mary as a model of Christian discipleship. Her Assumption, Fr. Pongos explained, was not achieved through her own power, but through God’s power, together with her humility, obedience, faithfulness, and trust in the Lord.

He further described the Assumption as a sign of hope and future glory, reminding the faithful of their journey toward God’s Kingdom. As members of the Church, Christians are called to continue this journey with faithfulness and obedience, seeking the guidance and companionship of the Blessed Virgin Mary as they draw closer to Christ.

The celebration concluded with a reminder that the Christian journey is not meant to be undertaken alone. As members of the Church, the faithful are called to walk together in unity, supporting one another as they continue toward the Kingdom of God.
