Before giving laws or commands, God speaks of grace, calling, and belonging. This moment marks a shift: Israel is not just a rescued people—they are a chosen people with a divine mission.

When the people complain about hunger, God responds by sending manna from heaven. This was supernatural provision—something they had never seen before. But it came with instructions: gather only enough for each day. God was not only feeding them; He was teaching them to trust Him daily. They could not store up security for the future. Each morning required fresh dependence.
