It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the Servants of Mary Queen of Apostles Community with CAM Parent Partners mourned the passing of our dear Rodel Econas Basera (September 2, 1978 – July 13, 2026).🕊️ 🕯️ He was laid to rest just this afternoon at Talisay Cemetery. 🙏🕊️

In times like these, it's hard to find the right words, but we are deeply grateful for the time we shared with him. He was a truly kind and gentle soul who brought so much light into the world as a father, grandfather, and friend. His contribution to the community—through his steadfast support, quiet dedication, and the warm encouragement he always offered to fellow parents and members—will be remembered with deep appreciation.

His memory will forever be a blessing to us.

Rest well in God's loving arms, Tatay Rodel. You will be deeply missed. 🕯️🙏

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father,
On this feast day of Saints Peter and Paul, we thank You for the gift of their lives, faith, and courage.

Saint Peter, Rock of the Church, you denied the Lord three times, yet you rose in humility to feed His sheep. Teach us to trust in Your mercy after we fall, and to lead with love, not fear.

Saint Paul, Apostle to the Nations, you once persecuted the Church, yet became its greatest preacher. Give us boldness to proclaim Christ through our words, art, music, and catechesis.

As the Catechetical Arts Ministry of SMQA, we claim you as our Patron Saints. Make our community a place of unity like Peter, and mission like Paul. Bless every catechist, artist, musician, and servant here. Form us to speak with conviction and to serve with joyful hearts.

Another year is not just time added, but grace multiplied.

As the Greeks would say, "Gnothi seauton" Know thyself. But we know deeper: we only truly know ourselves when we know Him who made us.
The more we surrender our plans, comfort, and "self" to Christ, the more we discover who we were created to be. That is spirituality in its purest form - not finding ourselves, but being found by God.

May your new year be holy, powerful, and full of purpose. May the Holy Spirit make you bold like the apostles Jesus sent out, and may your faith stay childlike, trusting, and full of wonder.
