I attended my first FSY in 2018, and it became one of the experiences that strengthened my desire to serve the Lord. The activities and lessons centered on missionary work inspired me deeply and helped me develop a stronger testimony. Completing my Young Women Personal Progress also brought me closer to Jesus Christ and helped me develop Christlike attributes.
When I entered college and pursued nursing school, that burning desire to serve slowly faded as I faced many challenges throughout those years. I became inactive for almost 5 years. From the struggles of nursing school to reviewing for the board exams and eventually becoming a Registered Nurse, the journey was not easy. But looking back now, I know those trials shaped me into who I am today and strengthened my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
At this stage of my life, many people wouldβve asked questions like, βWhy arenβt you married yet?β or βYou finally achieved your dream career, so why risk it?β My answer is simple: I AM CALLED TO SERVE.
As it says in Doctrine and Covenants 4:3:οΏ½βTherefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work.β
Through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I witnessed many miracles in my life. I started to be active again when some sisters from the Church ministered at my home. I participated on missionary work, was endowed on the temple, processed my mission papers and received my mission call on February 24, 2026 and was called to serve in the Philippines Cagayan de Oro Mission. Those miracles gave me the sacred privilege to participate in His work β to be a full-time missionary. I know that Heavenly Father knows each one of us personally. He knows our pain, our sorrows, and the deepest desires of our hearts. He knows our potential, and He wants us to use our talents for a greater purpose.
God placed this dream in my heart for a reason, and I know He will continue to guide me as I move forward in faith and in this next journey.
