UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir Sharing Christ’s message of love through songs

Church Workers' Appreciation Sunday | Offertory Anthem

On Church Workers’ Appreciation Sunday, the UCCP Magugpo Voice of Service Choir, composed of the workers and staff of the church, officially launched their singing ministry through the offertory anthem, “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord, O My Soul)" by Jonas Myrin, Matt Redman, and Lloyd Larson.

The song beautifully reminds us that beyond every task, responsibility, and unseen act of service, there is always a reason to praise the Lord. Our church workers may serve in different ways—through pastoral ministry, music, administration, evagelism, education, maintenance, and other ministries—but together, their service becomes one offering of praise to God.

May the Voice of Service Choir continue to sing and serve with grateful hearts, always remembering that every gift, every work, and every ministry is ultimately for the glory of God alone.

Soli Deo Gloria!

MESSAGE THROUGH SONG:
In the Name of the Lord
Words by Gloria Gaither
Music by Sandi Patty
Arranged by Mary Mcdonald

On this Church Workers’ Appreciation Sunday, we give thanks for our pastors, office staff, MUCS school personnel and teachers, PG program workers and volunteers, church musicians, custodians, janitors, security personnel, and all who faithfully serve UCCP Magugpo—many of them quietly behind the scenes, often unnoticed, yet always seen and valued by God. The anthem In the Name of the Lord reminds us that when our strength is weak, there is strength, power, and hope in the One who called us. May every church worker continue to serve God’s people with faithfulness and humility, not for recognition or praise, but in the Name of the Lord and for the glory of the Lord alone.

Lyrics:

Crowds have lined the narrow street
To see this man from Galilee
Just a carpenter some say
Leading fools astray
Yet many kneel to give Him praise
And in His eyes they glimpse the pow’r
That sees the hearts of all men
And He knows His Father’s mind
He speaks His Father’s words
For He comes in the Name of the Lord

There is strength in the Name of the Lord
There is power in the Name of the Lord
There is hope in the Name of the Lord
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord

When my plans have fallen through
And when my strength is nearly gone
When there’s nothing left to do
But just depend on You
And the power of Your Name
And when we call upon Your Name
Your strength through weakness to show
We can know the Master’s plan
Extend the Master’s hand
When we come in the Name of the Lord

There is strength in the Name of the Lord
There is power in the Name of the Lord
There is hope in the Name of the Lord
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord

His Name will be worshipped forever
Creator, Redeemer and King
There is strength in the Name of the Lord
There is power in the Name of the Lord
There is hope in the Name of the Lord
Blessed is He who comes
Blessed is He who comes
Blessed is He who comes
In the Name of the Lord
In the Name of the Lord

Communion Sunday | Message Through Song

ON EAGLES WINGS
Based on Psalm 91
Michael Joncas | Lloyd Larson
Offered by UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir
Conductor: Vicente P. Catalan, Jr

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
who abide in His shadow for life,
say to the Lord: "My Refuge, My Rock in whom I trust!"

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
and famine will bring you no fear.
Under His wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.

You need not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
though thousands fall about you,
near you it shall not come.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you, He will hold you,
God will hold you in the palm
(in the palm) of His hand, of His hand.

Stewardship Sunday:
Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:15
Sermon: The Harvest After Us

My Tribute
Paul Langford | Andrae Crouch
UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir
Vicente Catalan - Conductor

How can I say thanks
For the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove Your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am
And ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee

To God...
Be the glory
To God...
Be the glory
To God...
Be the glory
For the things He has done

with His Blood
He has saved me
with His power
He has raised me
to God
be the glory
For the things He has done

Just let me live my life
let it pleasing, Lord to Thee
And if I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary
Calvary

With His Blood
He has saved me
with His power
He has raised me
To God
glory
For the things He has done

With His Blood
He has saved me
with His power
He has raised me
To God
glory
For the things He has done
For the things He has done

Sharing God’s Love in Simple Ways

During the 53rd Founding Anniversary of UCCP Andap in Laak, Davao de Oro, UCCP Magugpo and the UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir shared school kits and ice cream with the children, as well as gently used clothing with the women of the church.

Joining us was Pastor Nerio A. Enecito, one of the pastors assigned to UCCP Magugpo, who delivered God’s Word during the anniversary worship.

These simple acts remind us that ministry is expressed not only through music and preaching, but also through generosity, fellowship, and care for one another as one family in Christ.

We thank UCCP Magugpo and every choir member who generously shared their blessings. May these gifts bring joy and remind the children and women of UCCP Andap that they are loved, valued, and remembered by the wider church.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the congregation of UCCP Andap for their warm welcome and for the sumptuous food and fresh fruits they shared with us.

We are also grateful to Rev. Aurora P. Catalan, Visiting Pastor of UCCP Laak, and Lay Preacher Michael Luchaves for helping make this meaningful celebration possible.

May we continue walking with Jesus and journeying with the Anawim through mutual care, genuine fellowship, and faithful service.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Singing with a Purpose!

The UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir gratefully shared the Good News of Jesus Christ through choral music with the congregation of UCCP Andap in Laak, Davao de Oro, during its 53rd Founding Anniversary on July 19, 2026.

The choir hopes and prays that, through this ministry, the congregation was strengthened in faith and encouraged to continue walking with Jesus by journeying with the least among His people—the Anawim.

During the anniversary worship, UCCP Magugpo, Tagum City, together with the UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir, also shared school kits with the children of UCCP Andap. Thank you to the church and the choir members for your generous offerings and support.

The choir hopes to bless more UCCP churches through music and inspire more congregations to faithfully walk with Jesus by journeying with the Anawim.

We thank God for this meaningful opportunity to serve.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Scripture Reading | Galatians 5:22-23

I WILL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW
Words by Mary McDonald
Based on Isaiah 43:1-19
Music by Mary McDonald
Offered by UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir
Conducted by Vince Abe Catalan

When you pass through the waters, I am with you.
When you go through the sea, I am there.
When you pass through the fire, the flames will not harm you.
I am God, I am Lord, I am there!

I will make all things new;
I will watch over you.
I will renew.
I will restore.
I am God!

I will make all things new;
I paid a price for you.
I am the Lord.
I am your God.
You are mine!

In your trial or your sorrow, I am with you.
When hope fades for tomorrow, I am there.
In your trouble or pain, call my name;
I'll be with you, I am God, I am Lord, I am there!

I created the heavens;
I created the earth.
I created my people.
Rejoice! I am God!

I will make all things new;
I will watch over you.
I will renew.
I will restore.
I am God.

I will make all things new;
I paid a price for you.
I am the Lord.
I am your God.
You are mine.
You are mine.
You are mine!

The UCCP Magugpo's Church Music Ministry (CMM) rejoices to see some of our children in the church join the UCCP Magugpo Chancel Choir in offering John Rutter’s Look at the World during today’s worship with an emphasis on Rural Life.

Their presence and voices remind us that the choices we make today will shape the world they inherit tomorrow. Like Esau, we must not trade lasting blessings for temporary gain.

Like the good soil in Jesus’ parable, we are called to nurture what God has entrusted to us so it may grow and bear fruit. As adults, may we teach our children gratitude, model faithful stewardship, and care for God’s creation for generations to come.

Soli Deo Gloria!
