𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗔 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣: 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛, 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 | 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 | 𝗝𝗔𝗡. 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Hebrews 11:1 NIV
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

God has prepared great blessings for His children—things no one could ever have perceived—just as it is written in

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—

These are things we cannot yet see or fully enjoy if we allow doubt to overtake us and cause us to quit our journey with God.

Thus, brothers and sisters, let this be a reminder: 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝—a faith that does not waver when tested and endures until the very end.

Moreover, as followers of Christ, we know that faith in God is not only a confession we make to Him but also a commitment we profess. James 2:26 tells us that faith without action is dead. Through faith, we obey the commands of God, fulfill the calling entrusted to us, and give Him all the glory and honor in everything we do.

Listed in Hebrews chapter 11 are the great men of faith—noble examples for us to follow. By their faith, they pleased God through their actions, and as a result, they experienced His great blessings—blessings that are impossible for man alone to achieve.

You see, 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚. You simply have to take a step of faith to experience the greatness of God.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵?

Hebrews 11:6 NIV
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙮, 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙 (Hebrews 10:38). When God was pleased with Abel, He approved his offering. When He was pleased with Enoch, He took him up to heaven without experiencing death. When He was pleased with Noah, He saved him and his family from the great flood. When He was pleased with Abraham, He fulfilled all His promises to him.

Therefore, 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵?

Romans 10:14-15 NIV
¹⁴ How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? ¹⁵ And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Christians who truly have faith share the Good News with all the earth. Therefore, step boldly into your calling with excitement and faith. God has prepared great things for His faithful ones!

𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 | 𝗕𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗬 | 𝗝𝗔𝗡. 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

In a spiritual sense, a “𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘦” 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵—𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘴, 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭 (1 Corinthians 12:10). In Deuteronomy 32:28, God describes such people as senseless and lacking understanding. This is echoed again in Jeremiah 4:22, where the Lord says they are foolish because they do not recognize Him or His will; “they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”

Discernment is a spiritual gift given to help us remain in righteousness and holiness. It also enables us to help our brothers and sisters in Christ avoid the schemes of the enemy. Through discernment, we are able to perceive what others may be going through so we can offer comfort and encouragement. It allows us to recognize the intentions of the heart—if someone is involved in something harmful, discernment helps us remain vigilant and avoid being led astray. Indeed, discernment is a blessing to the Church, helping to keep it aligned with the will of God.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? As it is written, “…𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴” (1 Corinthians 2:14). They cannot understand because they are not walking spiritually or are not living under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Remember that the Holy Spirit is given by God to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32). In short, 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙤𝙙.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱'𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀?

𝗠𝗬 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗗 | 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 | 𝗝𝗔𝗡. 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

𝘗𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮 23:1 (𝘕𝘒𝘑𝘝)
“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘥; 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵.”

In the Bible, the Lord is described as a Shepherd, and we, His children, are characterized as sheep. Sheep are known to be very dependent on their shepherd. Without a shepherd, they wander, become easy prey, and eventually die from neglect because they require constant care and attention to stay healthy. In short, sheep cannot live without a shepherd—just as we cannot live without God.

In John 10:2, another shepherd is mentioned—a pastor.

𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨.

God has given us pastors—shepherds after His own heart—who are called to lead us to the safest place we could ever be: His presence. In John 10:1, Jesus speaks about the sheepfold—a place built to protect the sheep from predators and thieves, especially during the night when they are most vulnerable. In the same way, this world is covered in darkness (Isaiah 60:2), and the enemy is constantly plotting ways to sn**ch us from God’s care. But praise God for the pastors who faithfully watch over our souls, helping to keep us safe, grounded, and secure in Him.

However, just as a hungry predator will attempt to climb over a sheepfold’s fence to capture a sheep, we must remain vigilant. The devil seeks to deceive. He disguises himself as someone who appears to know and serve the Lord—even as someone who teaches God’s Word—but his purpose is to corrupt and mislead. We can discern him through his words: he twists Scripture, and instead of giving glory to God, he seeks glory for himself. Therefore, we must be watchful and discerning so we are not deceived. Listen carefully to the true voice of our shepherd.

How do we know if a pastor is from the Lord?
John 10:2 says that the true shepherd enters through the gate. A sheepfold has a narrow gate through which both the shepherd and the sheep must enter. In Matthew 7:13–14, Jesus speaks of the narrow gate that leads to eternal life. Its narrowness reminds us that we cannot live however we please; there are boundaries and obedience required to enter the Kingdom of God.

In John 10:7, Jesus declares, “I am the gate.” This confirms His words that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We must go through Him—by believing in Him and in the Good News He proclaims. Only through Jesus can we enter into God’s presence—our true refuge and safe haven (John 10:9).

Therefore, to recognize a pastor according to God’s heart, we must ask: Does he enter through the Gate? Is his life rooted in faith in Jesus Christ? Does he live according to the Word of God and model obedience, humility, and integrity? A true shepherd does not lead people to himself, but through Christ. His life and teaching align with Scripture, and he sets an example for others to follow.

Indeed, we are blessed to have pastors who lead us toward God’s presence. True shepherds feed us, teach us, and help us understand Jesus and the Good News. They guide us in living according to God’s will so that we may receive the promises He has prepared for us. Reminder to not trade the blessings of God for the fleeting pleasures of this world.
