📝Sunday Sermon Reflection 📖 (08-24-26)
Title: Winning Arguments, Losing Relationships
Speaker: Elder Rosalino Caluban Jr.
Verses: James 1:19-20 & Colossians 3:12-15
A Blessed Sunday to everyone, today let us reflect on the title for today, where in our families when we fight, we might win the fight but our relationship gets hurt.
It is never worth winning an argument, if in the process you lose the relationship
3 Practical Ways to Build Stronger Relationships
Be Quick to Listen
Listen to understand, not to reply and to listen with humility and with an open heart
Let us listen before defending ourselves, listen to the emotion behind the words, and let us listen even when we disagree and before we judge.
Let us listen to our family.
Be Slow to Speak
Let us choose our words carefully and speak with grace, think before speaking and remember words matter.
Proverbs 15:1 - A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Let us control our words, as the words we say, stay. The words stick to the listener and stay with them for a long time. Let us be slow to speak.
Be Slow to Get Angry
Let us control our emotions, to choose patience and forgiveness
Don't let anger lead you
In a Christ-centered family, the goal is not to win the arguments, the foal is to preserve the relationship and reflect Christ.
Let us follow Christ's Example,
In Matthew 27:12-14, Jesus stayed silent despite being forced to speak but he remained silent.
Let us be to be quick to listen, be slow to speak, be slow to anger.
God bless the reading of HIs word.
