BE HONEST WITH GOD

🎙️ Ptr. Renato Combatir
📖 Psalm 40:9–14

Why are people sometimes reluctant to tell the truth?
Is it because of fear of judgment? Rejection? Or fear of being exposed?

Psalm 40 reminds us that we can come before God with an honest heart.

1. DECLARE GOD'S GOODNESS

In verses 9–10, David said he would not be silent about God's righteousness, faithfulness, salvation, love, and truth.
David didn't keep God's goodness to himself.
We should never be ashamed to tell others about God's faithfulness.

2. DEPEND ON GOD'S MERCY

In verse 11, David asks God not to withhold His mercy and asks that God's love and truth would continually protect him.
David knew that he needed God's mercy every single day.

3. BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR WEAKNESS

In verse 12, David openly admits that his sins have overwhelmed him and that his heart is failing.
He didn't pretend to have everything under control.
He acknowledged that he needed God.

4. CRY OUT TO GOD FOR HELP

In verse 13, David says:
“Be pleased to save me, Lord; come quickly, Lord, to help me.”
David knew he could not do it alone, so he turned to God for rescue.

❤️ OUR RESPONSE

Let us follow David's example:

Tell of God's goodness.
Admit your weakness.
Depend on His mercy.
Cry out to Him for help.

We don't need to pretend before God. He already knows our hearts.

His mercy is greater than our weakness.

“GOD DOESN'T NEED OUR PRETENSE—HE DESIRES OUR HONEST HEART.”

📖 THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CHURCH

🎙️ Ptr. Renato Combatir
📖 1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:5–10

What does it mean to be part of the church?

In school, an alumnus is someone who has graduated and is no longer actively involved in the school's activities. But when it comes to the church, there is no such thing as graduating from the body of Christ.

We are not called to simply attend church, sit in the pews, and eventually become spectators. Every believer has a role, a purpose, and a responsibility in the church.

Paul's message to the Corinthian church reminds us that the church belongs to God, is built upon Christ, and is strengthened as every believer faithfully participates.

I. A CHURCH DRIVEN BY A CLEAR PURPOSE

Paul describes the believers as those who are “sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints.”
The church must have a clear focus: to glorify God and fulfill His purpose.
Without a clear purpose, a community can easily lose its direction. But when the church keeps Christ at the center, everything we do—from worship to service—is directed toward Him.

The church does not belong to personalities, leaders, or individuals.
The church belongs to God.

II. A CHURCH BUILT ON TRUE FELLOWSHIP

Paul reminds the believers:
“For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building.”
— 1 Corinthians 3:9

The church is more than a gathering of people. It is a community where believers walk together.
We share our struggles, victories, burdens, and blessings.
Authentic fellowship allows us to encourage one another, pray for one another, and grow together in faith.
We were never designed to live the Christian life in isolation.

III. A CHURCH CALLED TO MINISTRY AND SERVICE

Paul said:
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.”

Paul planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the growth.
This reminds us that every person has a different role in God's work.
Some plant.
Some water.
Some teach.
Some encourage.
Some lead.
Some serve quietly behind the scenes.

But ultimately, God is the One who gives the increase.
We don't have to do everything. But we should be willing to do our part.

IV. A CHURCH BUILT ON AN UNSHAKABLE FOUNDATION

Paul reminds us to be careful how we build because the foundation has already been laid.
The church must be built upon Jesus Christ.
People may change. Leaders may change. Circumstances may change. But Christ remains the solid foundation of His church.
Therefore, everything we build and everything we do must point back to Him.

V. A CHURCH WITH AN ETERNAL FUTURE AND HOPE

Our service in the church is not merely about what we accomplish today.
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 4:17–18 to fix our eyes not on what is seen, which is temporary, but on what is unseen, which is eternal.

Our work for God has an eternal purpose.

The programs may end.
The seasons may change.
People may come and go.

But God's work continues.
Our faithfulness today can leave an eternal impact on generations to come.

THE FINAL CALL

As members of Christ's body, we are called to:

REJECT ISOLATION.
Choose fellowship and community.

RE-ENGAGE DAILY.
Don't become a spectator in God's work.

INVEST ETERNALLY.
Use your time, gifts, and resources for things that matter forever.

BUILD TOGETHER.
Remember that every believer has a part in building God's church.

❤️ THERE ARE NO ALUMNI IN THE CHURCH.

We don't graduate from serving God.
We don't retire from being part of His body.
We grow. We serve. We encourage. We build. We continue the mission.

Because the church is not simply a place we attend—

THE CHURCH IS A BODY WE BELONG TO, A FAMILY WE SERVE, AND A WORK WE BUILD TOGETHER FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

🌿 THE GREAT I AM — THE GOD WHO FREES, DELIVERS, AND REDEEMS

📖 Exodus 6:1–9
🎙️ Ptr. Matthew Inductivo

Have you ever experienced someone making promises to you, only to find out that they did not live up to them?

In Exodus 6, the Israelites were suffering under harsh slavery and oppression in Egypt. They cried out for freedom, and God heard their cries.

God reminded Moses of who He is. Throughout the passage, God repeatedly declares, “I am the LORD.”

For the Israelites, this was more than a statement—it was a reminder that their God was faithful, powerful, and sovereign. Unlike people who may fail to keep their promises, God always keeps His word.

As the GREAT I AM, God revealed His character and His plan for His people:

1️⃣ HE FREED HIS PEOPLE FROM SLAVERY

The Israelites cried out because of their suffering in Egypt, and God heard their cries. He promised to bring them out of slavery and lead them toward the land He had promised.
In the same way, God has provided freedom for us through Jesus Christ, who delivers us from the slavery of sin.

2️⃣ HE DELIVERED THEM FROM BO***GE

God did not merely hear His people's cries—He acted.
He promised to bring the Israelites OUT of their bo***ge. Their deliverance was not accomplished by their own strength, but by the mighty hand of God.
When we find ourselves bound by fear, sin, struggles, or circumstances, we can remember that the Great I AM is still able to deliver.

3️⃣ HE REDEEMED THEM WITH AN OUTSTRETCHED ARM

God declared that He would redeem His people with His mighty hand and through great acts of judgment against Egypt.
The word “redeem” points to God's work of taking His people from bo***ge and restoring them to Himself. We see this same beautiful picture of redemption throughout Scripture.
Ultimately, God's greatest act of redemption is found in Jesus Christ, through whom we receive forgiveness, freedom, and reconciliation with God.

✨ The Great I AM is not a God who makes empty promises. He is the God who fulfills His Word.

When God says “I AM,” He reminds us that He is sufficient, sovereign, faithful, and powerful.

Whatever situation we may face, we can trust the God who says:

“I AM the LORD.”

🙏 May we never forget who our God is—the Great I AM, who frees, delivers, and redeems His people.

Were it not for grace, where would we be?

We are not here because we are worthy, strong, or deserving—but because of the unfailing grace of God. Through every weakness, failure, and season, His grace has carried us and His mercy has never let us go.

May we never forget the One who saved us, sustains us, and gives us strength to keep going.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith…” — Ephesians 2:8 🤍

Christ, Our Atonement

Text: Romans 3:25

Why did Jesus Christ come into the world? How can a holy God forgive sinful people? Does God simply overlook our sins?

The book of Romans, written by the Apostle Paul, reveals the heart of the Gospel and answers these important questions.

The Bible declares:

"There is none righteous, no, not one." — Romans 3:10

Every person is guilty before God and unable to save themselves. Yet, because of His great love, God took the initiative to provide the way of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is:

❤️Our Atonement — He bore the penalty for our sins and satisfied God's righteous justice.
❤️Our Redemption — Through His blood, He paid the price to set us free from the power and penalty of sin.
❤️Our Savior — His sacrifice on the cross is complete and sufficient. No other sacrifice is needed.

Salvation is not earned by good works or religious efforts. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Application

Place your faith in what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Believe that He alone is Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. Our hope, forgiveness, and eternal life are found in Christ alone.

His sacrifice is enough. His grace is sufficient. His salvation is complete.
