Saint James reminds us that authentic discipleship is not measured by honor or recognition, but by faithful service, unwavering courage, and complete trust in God’s will. May his example inspire us to proclaim Christ with conviction, to serve others with humility, and to remain steadfast in our faith even amidst life’s challenges.
As we honor Saint James today, let us pray for the grace to respond generously to God’s call and become courageous witnesses of His love in our families, communities, and the world.

UPDATE ON THE PHILIPPINE ECY DELEGATION TO THE WORLD YOUTH DAY (WYD) SEOUL 2027

Dear Reverend Fathers and Youth Leaders,

Peace be with you!

As mandated by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), the Episcopal Commission on Youth (ECY) is actively organizing and animating the official Philippine delegation for World Youth Day (WYD) Seoul 2027.

To ensure clear coordination, we are in direct communication with the WYD Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and the WYD Seoul 2027 Incheon Diocese Organizing Committee. While planning is well underway, we have not yet released certain details to the public as several specific guidelines have yet to be finalized.

Please find the key updates and guidelines below:

1. Open Participation & Subgroups: WYD is open to everyone with no country quotas or limits on the number of pilgrims. While the WYD LOC welcomes national delegations (organized by country and subdivided by diocese), they also allow individual dioceses, religious congregations, schools, and recognized youth organizations to form and register their own subgroups (as shown in the attached Infographic 3).

2. Single Channel of Communication: Because there are already many participating groups, the WYD LOC's primary request to the ECY is to serve as the single point of contact for the Philippines. This is to ensure that official updates are shared as widely, fairly, and transparently as possible with everyone.

3. Recommendation / Endorsement Letters: As of this moment, the WYD LOC does not require a formal recommendation or endorsement letter from the CBCP-ECY for registration. Based on our experience (such as with WYD Lisbon in Portugal), whether or not an endorsement letter is required will ultimately depend on the visa application rules set by the Korean Embassy.

4. Upcoming Milestone Meetings (September): More concrete details will emerge in September following several crucial events. These include the 2nd International Preparatory Meeting, a coordination meeting with the Diocese of Incheon, and Bishop Junie’s courtesy calls at both the Philippine Embassy in Korea and the Korean Embassy in the Philippines. Specific guidelines and requirements for WYD Seoul will be finalized and clarified only after these meetings.

For your immediate reference, we have attached three infographics highlighting key details, including the official pilgrimage dates: Days in the Diocese of Incheon (July 29 to August 2, 2027) and World Youth Day week (August 3 to 8, 2027). Please note that official group registration for the "ECY-Philippines" delegation will officially open on August 3, 2026.

Prayer for the Youth

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up all young people into Your loving care. Bless our youth with wisdom to know what is right, courage to choose what is good, and strength to follow Your will even when the journey is difficult.

Lord Jesus, be their guide and companion. Help them discover their true identity as Your beloved children. Protect them from harm, temptation, discouragement, and all influences that draw them away from You. Fill their hearts with faith, hope, and love.

Holy Spirit, ignite in them a fire for holiness and service. Inspire them to use their gifts and talents for the good of others and for the building of Your Kingdom. May they become witnesses of Your love in their families, schools, communities, and the world.

Bless all youth leaders, parents, teachers, and mentors who accompany them. Grant them patience, wisdom, and compassion as they help young people grow in faith and character.
Mother Mary, our loving Mother, wrap our youth in your mantle of protection and lead them always closer to your Son, Jesus.

May our young people become saints of today, courageous disciples, and joyful missionaries of the Gospel.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
