The Paschal Triduum stands as the heart of our faithโ the summit of the liturgical year, where we journey through the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Though marked across three daysโ Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, it is celebrated as one continuous and sacred liturgy, inviting us into the deepest mystery of our salvation.
On Holy Thursday, we remember the institution of the Eucharist and Christโs commandment of love. In washing the feet of His disciples (John 13:14โ15), Jesus shows us that true greatness is found in humble service and self-giving love.
On Good Friday, we stand at the foot of the Cross. In His suffering and death (Mark 15:37), Christ embraces our humanity and carries our burdens. It is here that we encounter both the weight of sin and the depth of Godโs mercyโ where sacrifice becomes the very language of love.
As we enter the silence of Holy Saturday, we wait in hope. The Easter Vigil then breaks the darkness, leading us to the joy of the Resurrection (Matthew 28:5โ6)โ the triumph of life over death, light over darkness, and hope over despair.
The Paschal Triduum is not just a remembrance of past events, but a living encounter. It is a call to walk with Christโ to suffer with Him, to trust in His love, and to rise with Him into new life.
Let us fully enter into these sacred days.
Let us not merely observe, but participate.
And together, let us experience the transforming power of Christโs redeeming love.
