THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT | March 8, 2026

"But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
John 4:14

In this season of Lent, may we return to the One who truly satisfies not with what the world offers, but with living water that renews the soul.

As MBMG, may our Lenten journey be one of honest reflection, quiet surrender, and deep renewal.

A blessed 3rd Sunday of Lent to all our MBMG sisters and families. 💛

Still smiling from February 26! 😄

Our MBMG Tagum Chapter sisters stepped away from the usual and came together for a Team Building and what a day it was!

Laughter, games, and genuine connection reminded us why we do what we do: because we are better together. A united team is a stronger mission.

To every sister who joined, thank you for showing up, letting loose, and deepening the bonds that make our chapter truly special.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor." Ecclesiastes 4:9

From the archives of February 24!

Our MBMG Tagum Chapter sisters were among the faithful who gathered at the Carmen Municipal Gym for the SIDE by CiDE Seminar on Good Governance, a meaningful event that brought together parishes across Diocese of Tagum in solidarity and shared mission.

This initiative was the Church's response to the call of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines to honor the enduring spirit of the EDSA People Power Revolution — a historic testament to what prayer, unity, and moral courage can accomplish for a nation.

More than a commemoration, it was a formation, a reminder that authentic change begins with formed consciences, active citizenship, and leaders anchored in truth, justice, and accountability.

Our sisters were part of a rich day of reflection guided by the insightful talks of Fr. Carmelo Diola and Fr. Renato Repole, SJ, who spoke on servant leadership, ethical public service, and the Christian duty to engage in nation-building. The gathering was graced by the presence of Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, together with clergy, lay coordinators, and volunteers from across the Vicariate.

The open forum and the "Conversation with the Spirit" opened space for honest dialogue and communal discernment and the day was beautifully grounded in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, reminding us that our call to good governance is ultimately rooted in God.

This is what MBMG stands for — women who don't just stay within the Church walls, but step into the public square as witnesses of faith, integrity, and love of country.

Proud of our sisters who showed up and engaged!

"For God and for Country."

A moment worth revisiting!

Last February 13, we gathered with full hearts as we welcomed our newly inducted and installed Chapter Officers, Vicariate Coordinators, and Committee Heads of Mother Butler Mission Guilds – Tagum Chapter!

Though we're sharing this a little late, the joy and commitment from that day remain as fresh as ever.

To our new leaders, your service begins with grace, and we walk this mission with you.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she laughs without fear of the future."
Proverbs 31:25

SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT | March 1, 2026

"He was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light."
Matthew 17:2

On this Second Sunday of Lent, we are brought to the mountain with Jesus, Peter, James, and John; witnesses to a moment of divine glory breaking through the ordinary. The Transfiguration reminds us that in the midst of our sacrifice and struggle, God reveals His light.

But the mountain was not meant to be their final destination. They had to come back down, back to the world, back to mission, back to service. And so do we.

As women of faith and mission, we are called not only to seek God in moments of prayer and silence, but to carry that light back into our homes, our parishes, and our communities.

This Lent, let us ask ourselves:
Where is God revealing His glory in my life?
Am I willing to listen and to go where He sends me?

In the comments, share one thing God has been teaching you in this first week of Lent. Your witness may be the light another sister needs today.

MBMG Tagum Chapter proudly walked in faith and conviction at the March for Life 2026 of the Diocese of Tagum, rising early, walking together, and boldly standing for the dignity and sanctity of every human life.

Guided by the theme, “Let’s walk with righteousness, stand for life, and be a Beacon of Hope,” we marched with faith in our hearts and purpose in every step. Clad in our Type B uniforms, we united in prayer and witness, affirming our commitment to serve God and protect life from conception to natural death.

From the streets of Tagum to the altar of the Holy Eucharist at the Christ the King Cathedral, we affirmed our unwavering mission: to serve God, protect life, and be witnesses of hope in today’s world.

Thank you to everyone who stood, walked, and prayed with us. 💚
Together, we continue the mission. Together, we stand for life.

{MBMG Tagum Chapter's Deep Gratitude}

"Gratitude is the memory of the heart" is an old French proverb by Jean-Baptiste Massieu. It is a fitting description of what the officers and members of MBMG Tagum Chapter feel with regard to the overwhelming response of the MBMG National Office as well as other Chapters in connection with the disasters that struck Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro just recently.

No words can truly express the gratitude of the chapter for the generosity of fellow MBMG members led by no other than the National President Mely I. Diaz, as well as VP for Easter Mindanao Tenny B. Alcala, Davao Chapter President Lena Benedicto, and sisters from MBMG Chapters from Davao, Zamboanga, Dipolog, Kidapawan, and from Assumption College, San Lorenzo. Daghan kaayong salamat sa inyong tanan for your donations in cash and in kind. May the good Lord Himself be your own reward.
