“Change is Inevitable”
The only sure thing in life is “change.” One day may be stressful, and the next day, unexpected joy. Today may be dark and gloomy, but tomorrow the sun shines bright. Yesterday brought devastating news, but today a shimmer of hope. Nothing stays the same forever, except for God. Like it or not, change is inevitable. But sometimes we are too quick to force change. In today’s society, it’s all about instant gratification. If you’re unhappy with your looks, Botox can fix it. Lonely? A dating app will take care of that. In a financial bind? No problem–just charge the credit card! Want to change your image? Photoshop covers up flaws and imperfections, and thanks to social media, people's perceptions are easily manipulated. Within minutes, your “truth” becomes fake by giving a false impression of reality. But it’s dangerous to change who God intended you to be. Don’t attend a “comparison party,” always measuring your success based on the lives of others. Live the life God has planned for you. When trials come and the road gets rough, pray for God’s strength and guidance. It may not always be His will to deliver you from your circumstances. It’s important to live the life you are given and trust God to give you everything you need to walk that journey.
If you’ve been praying and praying for deliverance and nothing seems to be changing, perhaps you should change what you are praying for. Instead of asking God to change your situation, ask for courage and strength to make it through. Pray for more faith to believe that God knows what He is doing. God has a specific plan for your life, and sometimes He allows you to go through dark valleys that you may never understand. But you can always trust that God knows what is best, and you will never go through the darkness alone! The Bible says in Deuteronomy 31:8, “He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
