PENTECOST IS NEAR!
THE CHURCH AWAKENS ONCE MORE!

Pentecost is drawing nearโ€”the powerful feast when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and the Church was born in fire, faith, and mission.

Fifty days after Easter, while the disciples gathered in the Upper Room, the Holy Spirit came upon them like a mighty wind and tongues of fire. Fear was replaced with courage. Doubt gave way to faith. Silence became proclamation. From that moment, the followers of Christ were transformed into a missionary Church sent forth to the nations.

This is why Pentecost is called the โ€œbirthday of the Church.โ€ It marks the beginning of the Churchโ€™s mission to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earthโ€”not by human power, but through the strength and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost reminds us of:
โ€ข the beginning of the Churchโ€™s mission
โ€ข the gift of courage and bold faith
โ€ข the unity of believers in Christ
โ€ข and the outpouring of Godโ€™s divine Spirit upon His people

And so, Pentecost is not merely a feast we rememberโ€”it is a grace we continue to experience. Each year, the Holy Spirit renews the Church, rekindles hearts, and calls us once again to become witnesses of Christ in the world.

Come, Holy Spirit.
Set our hearts on fire and renew the face of the earth.

EASTER IS NOT YET OVER!

While many people think Easter lasts for only one day, the Church actually celebrates the Easter season for fifty daysโ€”from Easter Sunday until Pentecost Sunday. This sacred period, known as Eastertide, is a continuous celebration of Christโ€™s victory over sin and death through His Resurrection.

Throughout these fifty days, the Church reflects on the appearances of the Risen Christ, the joy of the Resurrection, and the preparation of the Apostles for the coming of the Holy Spirit. The Paschal Candle remains prominently displayed near the altar as a visible reminder that Christ, the Light of the World, has conquered darkness and death.

The Easter season reaches its culmination on Pentecost Sunday, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary, empowering the Church to continue the mission of Christ throughout the world. Thus, Easter is not simply a single solemnity, but an entire season of joy, hope, and renewed life in the Risen Lord.
